Loket Castle and the Ohře river, Loket, Czech Republic
Some background information:
Loket Castle is a Gothic castle in the Czech administrative district of Sokolov, located about 12 km (7 miles) from Karlovy Vary on a massive rock in the town of Loket. It’s surrounded on three sides by the Ohře river. Once known as "the Impregnable Castle of Bohemia", because of its thick walls, it is one of the oldest and most valuable historical stone castles in the Czech lands. It’s administered by the Loket Castle Foundation since 1993 and preserved as a museum and national monument.
Loket Castle, which was originally named Stein-Elbogen Castle (literally translated "Stone Elbow Castle") due to its rocky location is said to have been founded in 870 by the margraves of Vohenburg who were then related to the dukes of Bavaria to whom the entire Elbogen district belonged until the 12th century.
The medieval town of Loket was first mentioned in a document in 1234. But according to archeological investigations, the foundation walls of the stone castle date back to the third fourth of the 12th century. So the castle was already in existence during the reign of Ottokar I, King of Bohemia. The old Romanesque castle comprised two towers, a church and a building standing on the site of the present Margrave's House. The church stood beneath the present castle where St. Wenceslaus church is standing today. The other tower, no longer existent, stood to the north-east of the castle. Above all, the castle served as protection to the merchant's path leading from Prague through Cheb. But after the re-annexation by the Czech state it began functioning as a frontier fortress and it was by this time, when it became the new administrative centre of the region.
Under the rule of Ottokar II, King of Bohemia, who reigned from 1253 to 1278, a new fortification wall with half-cylindrical towers was constructed. Queen Eliška Přemyslovna used to hide herself in the castle with her children during the upheavals against her husband John of Luxembourg as well as to protect herself against his anger. The last time she had to hide there was in the early spring of 1319, when King John conquered the castle with a trick when he persuaded the guard to open the gate pretending a friendly visit to his wife. Queen Eliška was taken prisoner and transported to Mělník, the dowry castle of the Czech queens. Their three-year-old son Prince Václav, later Emperor and King Charles IV, was held here for two months in the underground prison, a period which he later described as a horrible imprisonment in a cellar with one tiny window. As an adult and an important European ruler, Charles IV did not come to hate Loket and often resided there. In his unimplemented code Maiestas Carolina, he classified Loket among the places which should have stayed in permanent property of the Czech crown.
The Hussite Wars did not avoid Loket when it found itself in the hands of the supporter of the Catholic Church burgrave Půta of Illburk. The Hussite troops tried twice to conquer the castle under the leadership of Krušina of Švamberk and later under the leadership of Jakoubek of Vřesovice, but both crusades ended without success. The comprehensive restoration of the castle under Wenceslaus IV was decisive for its present form. Of the original Romanesque buildings, those preserved were mainly the extremely rare rotunda, the foundations of the castle tower and those of the northern palace. The Margave's House also originated in the reign of Wenceslaus IV.
The castle continued to be enlarged up to the 1420's and in 1434 it was mortgaged to chancellor Kašpar Slik by Sigismund of Luxembourg as a reward for his financial aid. Further reconstruction took place in the second half of the 15th century when the castle was turned into a representative ancestral seat under the administration of the House of Slik, which lasted for more than 100 years. Its architecture followed the spirit of the late Gothic and the new-coming Renaissance. The Sliks changed the southern palace into a great hall, and the eastern palace into the "Slik Archives".
During the Thirty Years' War the town of Loket was afflicted with numerous disasters. At its beginning, Protestant Loket supported the opposition against the Emperor. After the Battle of the White Mountain, the Loket citizens allowed the Mansfeld detachments to enter the town. In 1621 the town was besieged by the Bavarians led by Tilly and after huge bombardment the town was forced to surrender and the Saxons had to leave. The town was then punished for disobedience by extensive repressive measures. This situation recurred again in 1631 when the burghers allowed the Saxons to enter and conquer the town. Swedish troops operating in Loket neighbourhood excluded the town from their attacks, but the Thirty Years' War and the repressive measures by imperial officials brought great economic losses to Loket.
In 1822 the castle was converted into a town prison. During that time a palace called the Stone Chamber in the vicinity of the tower was pulled down and other buildings were lowered by one storey. In 1948 the prison was finally abolished. The turning point for the improvement and opening up of the castle came in 1962 when it was returned to the town of Loket once again.
Today the castle, which contains many medieval artefacts of historical interest, is open to the public. In the Margrave’s House even an exhibition of porcelain is on display. The town of Loket with its more than 3.000 residents has a beautiful and well preserved medieval town centre, which was also appointed a national monument. Both town centre and castle were used as locations in "Casino Royale", the first James Bond film starring Daniel Craig, where they represent a town in Montenegro, in which Bond meets his contact René Mathis.

Aston Martin DB10 image is from the internet.
The Aston Martin DB10 is a bespoke two-door coupé created for the James Bond film Spectre by the British car manufacturer Aston Martin.
The car was unveiled by Sam Mendes and Barbara Broccoli, the director and producer of Spectre, the 24th James Bond film from Eon Productions. The unveiling took place as part of the official press launch of the film on the 007 Stage at Pinewood Studios, near London, on 4 December 2014. Mendes introduced the car as "the first cast member." The film featured the Aston Martin DB10 as James Bond's car. This continued a tradition, with Aston Martins having featured in many Bond films.
Shortly after the unveiling ceremony in Pinewood Studios, Aston Martin also took part in the launch of the Bond in Motion exhibition at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden, London. The car company were celebrating their fifty-year partnership with Bond films franchise, which started with the DB5 being used in the 1964 film Goldfinger.
The DB10 design was led by Aston Martin's chief creative officer Marek Reichman, with the film's director Mendes working closely with the team. The car was developed specifically for the film and ten units were hand-built in-house by the company's design and engineering teams in Gaydon. Eight of those 10 cars were featured in the movie, and two more were built for promotional purposes. Aston Martin stated that "the DB10 gives a glimpse to the future design direction for the next generation of Aston Martins." It was later revealed that the DB10 was based off the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage (2019).
As of December 2014, Aston Martin had only released a few of the technical details of the car, but they have revealed that it will feature the company's 6-speed manual transmission unit that is used on their V8-engined cars. The car's chassis is based on a modified version of the VH Generation2 platform that underpins the V8 Vantage. However the DB10 has a longer wheelbase and is nearly as wide as the One-77. It is powered by the same 4.7-litre AJ37 V8 found in the V8 Vantage S, which produces 430 bhp (321 kW; 436 PS) and 490 N⋅m (361 lb⋅ft) of torque. The DB10 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/h (193 mph).

Knives out, starring Daniel Craig, entertaining, DC's attempt at Kentuckian (?) accent would be better judged by kentuckians but I have my suspicion he took substantial liberty with it. Looking forward to his new outing as 007.

JAMES BONDAGE – Import US Punk Spoof 007 song by US punk rock band Pansy Division from 1995.
Pansy Division is an American punk rock band that formed in San Francisco, California in 1991. Featuring primarily gay musicians and focusing mostly on gay-related themes, Pansy Division is one of the more melodic bands to emerge from the "queercore" movement that began in the 1980s.
From: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pansy_Division
Early days
Frustrated by the lack of openly gay rock musicians, Jon Ginoli started performing solo sets under the moniker Pansy Division (a pun on Panzer division and the word "pansy") around San Francisco.[1] Shortly after this, in 1991, Ginoli placed an ad in the San Francisco Weekly looking for “gay musicians into the Ramones, Buzzcocks and early Beatles”. This caught the attention of Chris Freeman, who joined on as a bassist.[2] Ginoli and Freeman then recruited drummer Jay Puget, forming the first all gay rock band that any of them had known.[3] They hoped to defy the stereotype that gay men preferred pop divas and showtunes, by playing punk rock music.[4]
Lookout! years
In 1993, following extensive Californian touring, several 7" singles and compilation appearances, Pansy Division signed to Lookout! Records, released their first album, Undressed, and embarked their first national tour.
In 1994, with the release of their second album Deflowered and an appearance on Outpunk's seminal compilation Outpunk Dance Party, the band had proven themselves to be one of the more prolific and well-known artists to spring from the budding queercore movement. Also catching the wave of pop punk's mainstream explosion, Pansy Division were asked to tour with Green Day on the band’s 1994 Dookie tour, thus introducing the group and queercore to a much larger audience.[5] During the tour's New York stop, the band caught the attention of Howard Stern, who met them backstage, and spent a segment talking about them on his nationally syndicated radio show.[6][7]
While signed to Lookout!, the band continued to release an album a year: 1995's Pile Up (notable for its various cover songs, including Ned Sublette's "Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (covered as "Smells Like Queer Spirit")), 1996's Wish I'd Taken Pictures (featuring the single "I Really Wanted You", the music video of which played once on MTV) and the 1997 B-sides compilation More Lovin' From Our Oven.
During this time, Pansy Division primarily performed as a trio, with Freeman and Ginoli being the only constant members amid a slew of perpetually rotating drummers, both gay and straight. In 1996, the band finally found a permanent gay drummer in the form of Luis Illades and became a quartet in 1997 with the addition of lead guitarist Patrick Goodwin.
1998 saw the release of their fifth studio album Absurd Pop Song Romance, which was a departure from earlier Pansy work, featuring less humorous, more introspective lyrics and a darker, two-guitar layered alternative rock sound. The band was again taken on tour by a mainstream punk band, when they opened for Rancid on their 1998 Life Won't Wait tour.[8]
Alternative Tentacles years
In 2001, Pansy Division was finally ready to record another album, but the lack of support from Lookout! caused the band to leave their long-time label and sign with Alternative Tentacles later that year. What resulted was 2003's Total Entertainment!, an album that the band described as a meeting point between the lighthearted humor of their early work and the introspective rock of their previous album. Goodwin left the band the following year, being temporarily replaced by Bernard Yin and then by former Mr. T Experience member Joel Reader.
In 2006, Alternative Tentacles released The Essential Pansy Division, a comprehensive 'best-of' compilation featuring thirty tracks hand-picked by Ginoli and a DVD of various video footage.
Following the release of Total Entertainment, Pansy Division's active touring and recording schedule declined as most of the members relocated to different parts of the country. The band continued to perform sporadically, usually at various gay pride festivals or local shows in San Francisco. In 2007, Pansy Division launched their first national tour since 2003 with reformed San Francisco punk band The Avengers, whose current line-up features both Illades and Reader.
In 2008, the band became the subject of a documentary film entitled Pansy Division: Life in a Gay Rock Band, directed by Michael Carmona. The film has been touring internationally, playing at various LGBT film festivals, and was released on DVD in 2009.
Recently, Ginoli announced on Pansy Division's official website that 2009 would see the release of their seventh studio album, titled That’s So Gay, a live DVD, another national tour, and his memoirs, a biography of the band entitled Deflowered: My Life in Pansy Division.
In February 2009, the band released a vinyl 7" of "Average Men," their first single from the album. The B-Side is a cover of "Coming Clean" by Green Day.

Sanchez, Enrique "Dick"
Enrique "Dick" Sanchez departed this world on February 14, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dick's signature smile and positive attitude made him loved by all. He was an avid outdoorsman, profoundly appreciative of the pure joy, abundance, and beauty of nature. A gifted singer, his career spanned several decades as well as the globe: from Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Australia to the United States. Touted as the Frank Sinatra and Eddie Fisher of the Pacific, he was a champion of the great American songbook, and will be forever remembered for his musical contributions.

LifePerformances Brings Monologues From Veterans to the Lensic as a Call For Peace
Co-produced by Jennifer Esperanza Photography
On June 23rd,2006 a very special event will take place at the historic Lensic Theater in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Veterans who have served in the Iraq, Vietnam and the Gulf War will be sharing their personal stories as a call for immediate peace on the part of the United States. One of the veterans, a nurse in Vietnam, is currently battling cancer due to Agent Orange exposure.
They will be joined onstage by well known war photojournalist, Laurent Guerin who will also be sharing his story of being in “war-zones” throughout the Middle East as well as showing slides of his photos, many of which have been featured in the New York Times. The other participant will be gallery owner and peace activist Linda Durham, who traveled to Iraq in 2005 as part of a woman’s peace initiative.
Tanya Taylor Rubinstein, the Artistic Director of LifePerformances/Project Life Stories states “of all the shows I have produced and directed over the last ten years, none have been more moving or more important than this one. We are listening to first hand accounts of people who have been on the frontlines of these highly charged issues. More than anyone, they know what really happens to people in war and what the consequences are. It happened to them. They are in a position to share their wisdom with the rest of us. There stories are of innocence lost, devastating pain and violence as well as redemption. These are stories that need to be told, and witnessed by all American citizens as a window into our past and present.”
Music for the evening will come from composer, Donald Rubinstein and special guest musicians.
