Lake Garda, Italy
Limone is a popular tourist resort on the shore of Lake Garda, in north-east Italy. It lies at the mountainous northern end of the lake, and rocky cliffs rise up behind the waterfront town centre. Limone is a picturesque place to stay, and a good base for exploring and enjoying the lake, although it can become a little over-crowded in the summer months with holiday-makers and day-trippers in the little historic lanes.
Limone is the Italian word for 'lemon' and this part of Lake Garda was once renowned for growing lemons and other citrus fruits. Limone's name, however, is no more than a happy coincidence, since it is said to be much older than the lemon groves, and to derive from a Latin word meaning 'boundary'. The town is still close to a boundary, with Lake Garda shared by three Italian regions. Limone is part of the province of Brescia, in the Lombardy region and is known as Limone sul Garda, to distinguish it from another Limone (in Piemonte).
The heart of the old town is the little harbour, the Porto Vecchio ('Old Port'). From here, narrow lanes lined with tourist shops wind along the shore and up the slopes behind. There are pleasant and picturesque waterfront terraces, and plenty of places to eat and drink while admiring lake views. Following paths to the north of the harbour you leave the hustle and bustle behind, and pass scattered hotels, peaceful cafe terraces, abandoned lemon groves and little swimming beaches. In the other direction is the more modern part of Limone: a wide waterfront promenade, car park and many more hotel developments. This end of the town sprawls over the area where the mountains are set back further from the lake: here olive groves are interspersed with hotels and swimming pools.
For those who like movie trivia... The opening car chase scene of Quantum of Solace (2008) with Daniel Craig as James Bond driving an Aston Martin DBS V12 was filmed around Limone and the northern part of the lake along the lakeside road and tunnels - the Via Gardesana.
I like the semblance at this photo... his watch also inspired me to switch the light into what you can see here right now... hope it isn't too acridly

A couple of days ago a certain Flickerite just happen to mention, quote, “After all, I haven’t seen any photos of Hoof” well I will not say any names just watch my eyes (Charlotte Headman).
So as always to confirm my stories are authentic, I secretly photographed the boys, well they call it at play but basically they are scheming, as you can see in the foreground we have Horace carrying out surveillance work, he could be the next James Bond when Daniel Craig retires, then on the left is Hoof the master, then we have what Hoof calls Project X.
Project X is a young Horse which is under the expert tutelage of Hoof and Horace and one day will take the lead role when Hoof hangs up his saddle and relinquishes the keys to his Typhoon jet.
So I will not say much more as I would not like to compromise the boys secret location, so until the next adventure, toodle pip.
