Soapstone carving by a 16 year old artist in Iqaluit, Nunavut in 2005 (unfortunately, name unknown). It requires great skill to sculpt the bear so it balances entirely on one limb with no other support. Bears standing on one hind leg are more common, so the handstand bear is often highly sought after.

Some of the essential artifacts from the original Dancing Bears Lounge adorn the new space as a way to remember and pay homage to the past. The two enduring bear statues that once watched over the main entrance of the DBL for example now serve as twirling sentries at the front door overlooking Main Street while the irreplaceable Dancing Bears mural commissioned by Peter Roland now hangs on the wall directly next to the bar. www.highpeaksresort.com

I've always thought that these stickers were great conversation pieces to talk to co-workers and strangers about the elections. Some got washed, some I didn't get, the rest ended up here on my mirror as a reminder
I don't take my Right to vote for granted

A street performer with a stringed instrument and a "dancing" bear on the square in front of the Sofia Sheraton Hotel in Bulgaria. I don't think either of them was enjoying this very much.
The true appeal of the new Dancing Bears though is that while it connects with its celebrated history it also illustrates an independence to demonstrate its own unique character. www.highpeaksresort.com
Charlie is starting to grab at everything. Anything. If it moves, if it sits still, if its cold, if its hot, if we have it and he doesn't... anything. Yesterday I got out Eleanore's old Dancing Bear toy, and he loved it.
