TSF Dance Competition (A few pictures from a recent dance competition. I've got some others I'll post later.)
Recomendations Requested: These were all taken with Sigma 105-f2.8, which works wonderfully. But I miss the zoom capability! (As seen by the partial left foot - this is uncropped.) Has anyone used the Sigma 50-150 f2.8? Other lenses I should look at? (I can't justify the $1,000+ Nikons.)
These girls were having a great time doing Irish dances. I was fascinated by the hair on the girl on the left. I wondered if it was a wig (not that it is any of my business!) The above image is a crop of the image below.

Dancing. Expressing our emotions through the motion of our bodies.
The challenge of PCA276 Dancing (Feet) is to photograph emotions that are being expressed by the body. Since the face is so very expressive, try not to include faces in your photograph. Concentrate on the lower half of the body. If you include the whole body, find a way to hide the face or diminish its importance. Let the body do the expressing.
WIT: "M" posed for me. I liked this picture because of the shadow in the wood floor. I applied a black and light yellow gradient to emphasize the shadow. I also added a film grain (very lightly) to soften the image. Slight crop.

One of the absolute must-see activities at the Texas Renaissance Festival is watching Shunyata Belly Dance troupe and the great musicians of Solecism that perform with them. We only caught two full shows and snippets of other shows this season but it was one of the highlights of our two weekends at the 2015 TRF.
I took these photos in October 2015.
