Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi, India

Chandni Chowk (Hindi: चांदनी चौक, Urdu: چاندنی چوک‎), originally meaning "moonlit square" or "moonlit market", is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi, now in central north Delhi, India. Built in the 17th century by the Mughal emperor of India Shah Jahan, and designed by his daughter Jahan Ara, the market was once divided by canals (now closed) to reflect moonlight, and it remains one of India's largest wholesale markets.

ODC - Balance

just a stone's throw from the piazza del duomo in milan, the weekend morning light casts a gentle glow on a passerby. wrapped in a dress of vibrant swirls that echo the lively spirit of the city, she pairs it effortlessly with a bold, sun-yellow tote. her gaze, fixed on the phone in hand, is a modern connection woven into the tapestry of a historic sunday morning. amidst the grandeur of milan’s architectural treasures, life unfolds in the simple act of reading a message, a quiet contrast to the vast stories etched in the stone of the cathedral nearby.

DDC-Makes Her Happy

We do this every morning with Shizandra. She loves to play buggy, it definitely makes her happy! She runs up down the hall and gets a good morning work out.

Never forget to brush your teeth! They don't grow back... ;)

in the early morning light of barcelona, a hidden courtyard reveals the layered life of the city. buildings of different eras stand shoulder to shoulder, their facades a patchwork of history and daily life. the rising sun throws a sharp divide of light and shadow, carving out spaces where private lives unfold in the urban tapestry. balconies offer a glimpse into the quiet start of the day, as the city awakens in a hush, preparing to pulse with vibrancy once more.

Never would I have imagined posting pics of disinfectant but this is the reality of lockdown. My day begins with a cup of tea, taking my temperature, disinfecting the work surfaces and door/drawer handles followed by a shower. Warning: DO NOT drink this!

amidst the urban symphony of new york city, the essence of daily life unfolds at a bustling food stand. the mingling scents of grilled meats and fresh pretzels waft through the air, blending with the hum of conversations and city sounds. illuminated by the glow of hanging bulbs, vendors and patrons alike are caught in a fleeting moment of exchange and sustenance. a child sips on a soda, his gaze wandering as if absorbing the city's energy, while a woman in a mask moves purposefully through the scene. this image captures the vibrant, everyday heartbeat of the metropolis, where every interaction tells a story of survival and connection.

on a crisp winter morning in the heart of munich, sunlight carves sharp shadows along the city streets. a man strides purposefully, his coat buttoned against the chill, his expression set against the day's demands. the poster beside him, vibrant with the image of a woman in a dirndl, adds a splash of color and contrast, embodying a different world of festivity and warmth. this moment, captured in the intersection of everyday life and commercial imagery, tells a story of urban rhythm and the fleeting nature of human encounters.

366-The 2016 Edition

Making meals is something I do every day. This Spaghetti Squash is for our supper. I made a special sauce for it. This is a great alternative to pasta.

Coffee is most definitely part of my daily routine. On the weekend, I take the time to make real espresso using a trusty (and noisy) old Faema machine handed down from my parents. I find the crema from Illy's espresso grind just perfect.

Now before the coffee snobs get all up in arms about me using pre-ground (gasp!) Illy (what mass market dreck!) espresso instead of hand-picked, roasted-no-earlier-than-yesterday, ground-no-more-than-30-seconds-ago, organic, fair trade, shade grown, pooped-out-by-civet-cats high altitude low pressure $100/kg beans, let me preemptively say this: I don't want to hear it.

Home and making dinner. Anna made some cornbread to go with my squash soup (don't make that face, it is sooo good) , I made some chicken salad for sandwiches this week and we did homework and other regular evening stuff.

in the stretched silence of the markethall of cabanyal, there sits a figure, draped in the day's fading light. he occupies the frame with an ease only found at the day's end, his phone a modern tether to unseen words. the stalls, now barren, echo a day's bustling commerce, standing as silent sentinels to the daily ebb and flow of market life. there's a tranquility here, in the convergence of solitude and cessation, where the man and the market both pause, in mutual reprieve, under the watchful glow of the fluorescent guardians.
