I did see a couple of early daffodils at Hyde Hall last week but didn't get a good shot of them so I treated myself to these at the weekend :)

Thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images. They are, as always, very much appreciated. Have a good week everyone.

A great show in Camperdown park in Dundee this morning.

Yesterday we went to the Garden centre near our town. It was real pleasure to see so many flowering plants - and even bumblebees!

Thank you very much, dear friends, for visits, faves and comments!

Narcissus (Amaryllidaceae). Various common names including daffodil, daffadowndilly, narcissus, and jonquil are used to describe all or some members of the genus.

Mărțișor (Romanian pronunciation: [mərt͡siˈʃor] is a Romanian celebration at the beginning of spring, on March the 1st in Romania, Moldova, and all territories inhabited by Romanians. Alike, though not identical customs can be found in Bulgaria (see Martenitsa), while similar ones exist in Albania, and Italy.

The name Mărțișor is the diminutive of marț, the old folk name for March (Martie, in modern Romanian), and thus literally means "little March". It is also the folk name for this month. In modern times, and especially in urban areas, the Mărțișor lost most of its talisman properties and became more of a symbol of friendship or love, appreciation and respect. (Wikipedia)

I do not think our daffodils are as good as usual this year, but I (Edgar) took some photos.

(107/365) It's been quite windy lately & quite a few of our Daffodils have been blown over so I rescued those I could to brighten the kitchen up. Putting my Nescafe coffee jar to good use again. Pretty much the same photo as I took for my group last year only a different glass jar www.flickr.com/photos/juliek1967/33596107602/in/photolist...

I've been laid low with an infection, not sure if it's that or the antibiotics that have made me sick :( Luckily Martin is home from work this week to look after me. I feel a bit brighter today & hope to head out to walk Bella later & catch up with comments this afternoon.

When I found these flowering daffodils around Christmas I thought it is like Easter and Christmas were on the same day 😄

Daffodils in spring time.

the apricots paid the price for blooming as early as they did, a hard frost left the blossoms brown. nevertheless, this hardy variety of daffodil was just about the only thing blooming at the arboretum. j c raulston arboretum, ncsu, raleigh, north carolina
