Neben den Dampfzugfahrten um Kiruna, standen auch Sonderfahrten mit Bewirtung im Speisewagen bis nach Abisko und zurück auf dem Programm. Gegen 12Uhr ist Da 888 mit dem „Lunch-Train“ wieder auf dem Rückweg nach Kiruna. Bei Kaisepakte bietet sich den Fahrgästen ein großartiger Blick auf den Torneträsk.
In addition to the steam train trips around Kiruna, the schedule also included special trips with catering in the dining car to Abisko and back. At noon, Da 888 is on its way back to Kiruna with the "lunch train". At Kaisepakte, the passengers have a magnificent view of Lake Torneträsk.
It is taken with my compact camera (thus the poor quality) which is the only one I could carry with me on this 120 km in 4 days trek from Santiago to Costa da Morte.

Der Lai da Palpuogna (Palpuognasee auf Deutsch) befindet sich oberhalb des Dörfchens Preda auf dem Gebiet der Gemeinde Bergün/Bravuogn im Kanton Graubünden. Der Bündner Bergsee liegt auf einer Höhe von 1917 Metern über Meer direkt an der Albulapassstrasse. Der See ist Teil des Naturpark „Parc Ela“ und wird vom Fluss Albula durchflossen. Der Palpuognasee ist etwa 500m lang, knapp 200m breit und maximal 25m tief.
Lärchen säumen das Ufer des Sees und die blaugründe Tönung lässt den See malerisch wirken. Nicht umsonst wurde der Palpuognasee vom Publikum des Schweizer Fernsehens zum „schönsten Flecken der Schweiz“ gewählt. Der See ist heute im Besitz der Elektrizitätswerke Bergün, die ihn als Stausee nutzen. Deshalb herrscht am Bergsee Badeverbot und somit ist das Baden im Lai da Palpuogna verboten.

Im Sommer 2022 hatte das Schwedische Eisenbahnmuseum ein buntes Programm von Sonderfahrten auf der Erzbahn zwischen Kiruna und Abisko organisiert.
Zum Abschluss sollten die Erzbahndampflok R 973 und die Dm3 einen Sonderzug von Abisko nach Vassijaure und zurück ziehen. Da die Dampflok aufgrund eines Kompressorschadens nicht wie geplant für die Hinfahrt zur Verfügung stand, musste Da 888 einspringen. Hier erreicht sie mit Sonderzug Rst29002 den Bahnhof von Vassijaure.
In the summer of 2022, the Swedish Railway Museum organised a special programme of train excursions on the ore railway between Kiruna and Abisko.
At its grand finale, the ore railway steam locomotive R 973 and the Dm3 were to pull a special train from Abisko to Vassijaure and back. As the steam locomotive was not available for the outbound journey as planned due to compressor damage, Da 888 had to step in. Here she arrives at Vassijaure station with special train Rst29002.
