La Tour d'Ulster également appelée Tour de Belfast ou Helen Tower, est un mémorial britannique, située sur le territoire de la commune de Thiepval, dédié aux soldats d'Irlande du Nord morts dans la Somme pendant la Grande Guerre.
Morondava (Madagascar) - Véritables camions des mers, les boutres, malgré leur absence de moteurs participent à l’économie de la Grande île en transportant diverses marchandises de port en port par une navigation exclusivement côtière. Les unités les plus petites mesurent 8 mètres de long pour une capacité de 50 tonneaux (150 m3), contre 500 tonneaux pour les plus grandes. La simplicité du gréement permet de manoeuvrer avec un équipage réduit.
Aujourd’hui, le bois est très cher et dès que les marins Vezos, autrefois appelés les nomades des mers, aperçoivent une épave, ils récupèrent le bois qui sera utilisé pour d’éventuelles réparations sur leur voilier. Les plus grosses pièces seront revendues aux chantiers navals qui construisent de nouveaux boutres à partir de bois de récupération. Ici, rien ne se perd, tout se récupère.

Morondava (Madagascar) - True trucks of the seas, dhows, despite their lack of engines, participate in the economy of the Big Island by transporting various goods from port to port by exclusively coastal navigation. The smallest units measure 8 meters long with a capacity of 50 barrels (150 m3), compared to 500 barrels for the largest. The simplicity of the rigging allows maneuvering with a reduced crew.
Today, wood is very expensive and as soon as the Vezos, formerly called the nomads of the seas, see a wreck, they recover the wood which will be used for possible repairs on their sailboat. The largest pieces will be resold to shipyards that build new dhows from salvaged wood. Here, nothing is lost, everything is recovered.

Me precipiti a i metre de musica.
Répandu dans les prairies moyennement humides, le colchique offre sa floraison rose lilas ou blanche en automne. Son nom serait issu de la contrée que les Grecs Anciens nommaient Colchide (actuelle Géorgie), et où demeurait Médée, magicienne et empoisonneuse (bien que sur ce dernier point les légendes ne s'accordent pas).
La plante contient de la colchicine qui est un violent toxique.

Spread in moderately humid meadows, colchicum offers its lilac-pink or white bloom in autumn. Its name would come from the region that the Ancient Greeks called Colchis (current Georgia), and where Medea, magician and poisoner lived (although on this last point the legends do not agree).
The plant contains colchicine which is a strong poison.

Eigentlich sollten Atrus und Catherine Avarone danach für immer verlassen und nie mehr zurückkehren. So war es mit den Ältesten ausgemacht. Die Gesellschaft auf Averone sollte vor allzu großen Veränderungen bewahrt werden. Inzwischen hat jedoch ein Wandel eingesetzt, der den Averonesen auch Vorteile bringt und nicht mehr aufgehalten werden kann. Atrus hat durch sein ehrliches und umsichtiges Verhalten das Vertrauen der Ältesten gewonnen. Deshalb erlauben sie einigen jungen Männern und Frauen, mit Atrus zu gehen, unter der Voraussetzung, dass sie regelmäßig zurückkehren, um die Jüngeren zu Hause zu unterrichten.
Wenig später geht eine Gruppe von jungen Leuten mit Atrus und Catherine nach D’ni. Als erstes suchen sie nach Verbindungsbüchern, um Überlebende der Katastrophe vor 70 Jahren zu finden. Nachdem sie über 700 Bücher gesammelt haben, überprüft Atrus diese Zeitalter. Anfangs können nur wenige überlebende D’ni gefunden werden, später wird ihre Zahl auf mehr als 1800 anwachsen. Die meisten Überlebenden und ihre Nachkommen, erklären sich zur Rückkehr bereit. Sie wollen mit Atrus die Stadt D’ni wieder aufzubauen.
Wie lange der Winter bleiben wird, ist noch nicht absehbar.

Lufty's A340-300s are always a delight to see, especially on a hot day. Here, one is departing DFW Airport for Frankfurt.
This weeks SNS is D&H Alco's on the famed Penn Divison. D&H 616 leads NE87 South under Starrucca Viaduct in Lanesboro, PA in October 1973. No photographer listed on the slide mount.
Par cette série de photos on peut voir l'évolution d'un poussin d'Ouette d'Egypte jusqu'à l'âge adulte.
Sur sept poussins au départ six sont arrivés à l'âge adulte, une belle réussite pour le couple géniteur.
Aujourd'hui les jeunes adultes ne sont plus tolérés à moins de six mètres par les parents qui les considèrent désormais comme des concurrents.
Through this series of photos one can see the evolution of a goose chick from Egypt to adulthood.
Out of seven chicks at the start, six have reached adulthood, a great success for the spawning couple.
Today young adults are no longer tolerated within six meters by parents who now consider them as competitors.
