An annual hill climb has been running on Pea Royd Lane since 2004,
when club founder Stewart Smith began hosting it for his previous club Thurcroft CC.
Stewart also promoted the National Hill Climb on the same course in 2009 - Images taken from the 2014 Champs
I took this Bike Peddler mirror for it's first outing today and was very pleased. It is a worthy successor to the Chuck Harris mirror. I was having trouble getting my second CH mirror to hang on to the narrow temple of my glasses (my first Chuck Harris mirror was destroyed in an accident). This mirror tightly grips the temple, and the mirror pivots and rotates for easy adjustment, even while riding if need be.
I can hardly stand riding without a mirror, and I'm glad someone put so much thought into a good design.
Cycle with locally assembled metal body. These guys doesn't need a cycle with carbon fiber body, helmet and sports shoes to race.
It's a Claud Butler Criteritm with horrible Shimano Sora, mud guards fixed with electrical ties, and all manner of bodges and fixes. Wouldn't a Juicer be more elegant?

Year 4 display linked to rivers (Geography) and the water cycle (Science). I created the background and the children drew and cut out animals and plants that would be found in that habitat.

It is not about riding from a to b. It is the lifestyle to be on the road with a bike. To be on the street, the bike lane with the cheapest and greenest means of transportation, your own muscular strength. Riding through the car traffic, relaxed and at ease, with the motto “The journey is the reward”.

Having been used to the rise of the Boris Bike in London, it was nice to see the equivalent "bicing" all over Barcelona.
Utility cycling encompasses any cycling not done primarily for fitness, recreation such as cycle touring, or sport such as cycle racing, but simply as a means of transport. It is the most common type of cycling in the world.
On Saturday 17th Sept employees from Dublin Airport Authority completed a 50k charity cycle to raise awareness for the DAA Charity of the Year, 3Ts – Turn The Tide of Suicide.
The 52 strong-group consisted of cyclists of varying experience – from pure beginners to seasoned cyclists. The atmosphere was electric as the group set out on the first leg of their challenge from ALSAA Sports Complex at Dublin Airport. The nip in the air made the group all the more keen to get on the road.
The teamwork displayed on the day was a credit to all involved, as the more experienced cyclists kept pace with the less experienced – encouraging them along. Craig Sweetman, who offered support and advice to cyclists in the lead up to the event, cycled in excess of 70k on the day as he moved swiftly up and down the line encouraging people along the way, helped by Kinsealy man John Finlay, both of the Airport Fire Service.
With a short stop at The Bracken Court Hotel, Balbriggan, the group began the second stage for a triumphant return to Dublin Airport.
Of course behind every event is a team of organisers but also the much needed sponsors - on this occasion Eurocycles went above and beyond the call of duty and helped make the 52 cyclists and 3Ts a very visible presence on the roads of north county Dublin with specially commissioned jerseys emblazoned with 3Ts.
While the event was hosted to coincide with European Mobility Week – encouraging alternative modes of transport – the DAA staff achieved their main challenge, which was to raise awareness for 3Ts and especially the 1Life 24hr Suicide Helpline.
