A big stack of sealed bottle stopper and pen turning blanks in European olive, sealed in Anchorseal, ready for many months drying out before being turned on the lathe.
I finally got a chainsaw. It's a 16" electric Homelite from Home Depot for $80. I had wanted the 14" for $50, but they were out of it, and I wanted to cut these up the next day, so I splurged on 2 more inches of bar. It works fine, and is very easy to maintain.
Inspired by the cut-up experiments of William Burroughs, I used various techniques to create original cut-up compositions
Some sections of these Eucalyptus logs and branches were bright yellow inside, and these were wonderfully fragrant. They made me think of lemon cake. I'm amazed at all the scents I've been finding in these things. They're quite strong.

Day 45-Now I am getting into the shirts that I wore more frequently when I lived outside of home.
This one I dont remember when I got it but I like it a lot. Coming from an area in Texas where we have a lot of snakes, this one appeals to me. I know its a bit ghastly and I wouldnt harm a snake unless it as threatening me or in extenuating circumstances...anyway, its a cool shirt because of the creativity involved.
I like scissors as well.
AND, it freaks out my Nana so its doing it job...:)
I snuck back after work trying not to disrupt anyone. I just wanted to get a shot or two of the yard. This is how well I cleaned it up. I quickly trimmed off the smallest (<2") branches and threw them in a pile by the road - at left here. This cleared the way tremendously for me to casually stroll right up to each larger branch that I wanted, and it was quick work with most being 4" or under. I also pulled the scraggly stuff out of her Agapanthus bed so she could get those looking nice again. She was very happy that I did this, as she's been looking at this for a day or two, and this since I went at it earlier this day. I actually couldn't believe I got the yard basically entirely cleaned up. She just needs someone to rake up the little twigs that litter the far half of the lawn here.

These pieces are created in sets of two. I’ve used half a dollar per piece. But it’s now an artwork. What is it worth to the viewer? Will they want both pieces so as to have both halves? If the pieces get purchased separately will the owners ever know of each other or wonder where the other half exists? It’s a ‘re-mixed’ and fragmented dollar so is it now rendered worthless anyhow? And would it be different if it was UK currency?
