All of the lumpy, burly regions on this large limb might provide interesting goings-on in turned pieces. I'll just have to wait and see. I wish I had 10 more limbs like this, so I could experiment.

The tiny pile at left is what I cleaned up, limbs cleared of twigs and greenery in the foreground. The huge pile in the background is still to-do.
We bought an old house so it has it's eyesores, but the kitchen is otherwise in pretty good shape. It will be a while until we get around to fixing it up, so why not just make the eyesores into some temporary fun?
Mack Magaha was a well known Nashville Fiddle Player. He began his career in 1955 when he joined Don Reno and Red Smiley as a member of the Tennessee Cutups. In 1964, he joined Porter Wagoner's Wagonmasters. He became a regular performer on the Grand Ole Opry and at the Opryland Theme Park in the 1970s. Mackj was known as Nashville's Dancing Fiddle Man died at the age of 74 and is buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Goodlettsville, Tennessee
I was supposed to write an essay based on the idea of Francis Alys' Guards (2004), but somehow didn't write an essay at all and got very carried away. It went from a critical look at the place of walking in modern art to attempting to dissolve all logical meaning entirely. Initially a snide piss-take, I wrote a ludicrous non-story about the City of London and its inhabitants. After that the form of the essay went out of the window too. The "Cut up" of writing was pioneered by Dadaists and later used by Beat Generation poets. I didn't manipulate individual lines or letters but instead used chunks of text and sewed them back together to turn the written text into something more visual and dissolve meaning even further.
Here's a pile of Eucalyptus on the left, with Anchorseal mostly dried on the ends, and on the right, the newly-cut pieces of paperbark (Melaleuca quinquenervia), freshly dipped in Anchorseal. It takes a day or 2 for the sealer to dry entirely, unlike the Rockler Green Wood End Sealer, which dries in an hour or 2.

The first few limbs from which I cut all greenery and twigs make a rather meager pile. I'm starting to feel the weight of how much there is to cut here. These few small pieces took 15 minutes or so to clean up.
