I threw a tarp around the pile with some obvious barrier 4x4s to let the gardeners know I didn't want these thrown away. I asked my landlady to tell the tree guys to save the limbs they would cut, and found a pile way larger than expected. It's about 4'-5' tall, and maybe 8' in diameter. The gardeners left the pile alone.
I got a new lathe, so I had to test out a piece of the juniper to see what was inside. I made this pointless shape to see how it handled different angles and curves. Answer: admirably.
The only piece left after a silver maple was cut down and hauled away. I'm not sure why this was left behind. Perhaps too heavy for the city's clamshell bucket truck. As this crotch section suggests, the tree had evolved with a complex configuration of trunk and main stems. Wish I'd gotten a "before" pic of it. Besides being complex, I'd have to say it was not a thing of beauty. The worst part was how horribly misshapen it had become, after ruthless amputations by the tree "trimming" contractor who works for our utilities company.
I did also notice that my neighbor scavenged a couple of large trunk sections before the city truck made its rounds. Imagine he has furniture creations in mind. I'm curious to see the outcome.

So after some time about one month I continue uploading fotos. In the last time I looked for a new Camera. About a week ago I bought one. The Olympus E-500. This is the first foto I loaded up and several thousand :-) will follow.
Now I'm gonna to start photografie really intensiv. I have a lot to learn.
And please if somebody have a cutup say it, I want to hear it.
