Nichole told me, when she went to Salt Lake City that she got a free shuttle ride from the airport to downtown. The guy who was driving was quite a cutup and said each trip came with a "free appliance" Then he handed her this.
It's a bit of a visual pun. Get it?
"Our project "Identikit" deals with the matter of immigration and hence with identities and the issue of clichés. Identities are highly complex and always different, however clichés work by simplification. Under the view of immigration, more and more families and individuals have a patchwork-identity, which is often encountered by others with stereotypes. To visualize this problematic issue we have made portraits of well known German, French and American personalities, which have a migration background. Based on a technique, that is known from Childrens books or phantom view catalogs, the faces are horizontally cut in stripes, so that you can rearrange them in endless variations. In addition there are a series of words on the backside so that you can replace some parties of the face. There are so many options, some make sense, some don´t, some invoke images and even stereotypes in your head, but they give no concrete answer. It´s all in the viewer."

[A very old cut-up piece that my friend LaDonna published in her online zine.]
turns - intersection with the empty maelstrom – words themselves crush the moment’s anesthesia - more still fruits and common gusts – the central interpenetrating frames of day – these disembodied relationships – to enter the stillness rising – a breeze enters, turns the day i dreamt her eyes, our perfection of the still point, old dreams – the commodity of souls and your innocence, a stranger, anticipates breath – dreaming the eternal, a framed stillness – and of the garden, and within the shadows of twilight and loss, book of perfection, a street frame, her eyes – simpler the eternity and the kingdom – drift down slowly out of a broken region beyond transformation – in the absence of the dreadful human cycle of contempt, spite, into the consuming breaths of god – a framed breath and the solitude, forming cages, my meter and movement – the still point – dream and movement through, the w(eigh)ait under this occupation – into this sketch movement, solitude, performance, and night – facing the fading slope – the birth, i thrust to within the purest state – lend your wavering landscapes to a calm rising breath – blue becoming the broken chaotic fragments of connection

Can't Resist
He needs He needs this He needs that
He wants this He wants that He wants
to need this and that He gets this He has that
He gets that He gets and gets and He still wants
and needs and he gets and wants and owns
Owns a lot of nothing Owns a lot of something
Owns a thing or two He has a little more and still
he accumulates He needs He gets what he wants
He gets what he needs He has this and he has that
He stocks up He piles up He stockpiles
He has heaps and heaps
He wants and he gets
He wants and he gets
He wants and he gets.

It all begins on the planet Kamino, where the training of clones who have been bred to be perfect soldiers occur. These cadets must first be subjected to intense physical and mental training before heading off to war. Five headstrong clones of Domino squad struggle to complete their training. These cadets -- Hevy, Cutup, Droidbait, Fives and Echo -- seem to be a "bad batch" and are unable to work as a team. They're given a final training run to prove their mettle and the clones finally learn to work together...

This was a picture I took of my husband at our oldest son's wedding. He was swiveling around in a chair and making faces at me because I wanted a serious expression. He's such a cutup. That's one of the main reasons why I married him. He can always make me laugh. It's amazing to me how many Christians think that we must be serious especially in a church or "sacred" place. I truly believe that one of the funniest things about the Lord is that He gives the spark of humor. Like any art, it's a reflection of His heart He shares with us. We just copy Him. What a blessing He gave me in my husband and his humor!
This is the passage written in the photo above:
[God] fills your hearts with joy (Acts 14:17, 1984 NIV).

The Iowa Northern Hawkeye Express rolls into Cedar Rapids as a couple of guys are about to put their boat in Cedar River. The train is entering UP's North Yard on the north side of Cedar Rapids. This train is being positioned for the 1st Iowa Hawkeye Football Game in Iowa City on Saturday, 2009.
The 678 was mainly used on the IANR for these Hawkeye Express Trains and odds and end passenger specials. I see the unit is sitting at Waterloo now, no longer on trucks and about half cutup. I don't know if it's due to a mechanical failure or the lack of need anymore? The Hawkeye Express is done too. Some of the cars were sold to the DAIR Railroad.

Why are you so scared and creeping around
Taking photographs all over town
Pictures in the dark that live in the light,
The world is my playground too and I’ll do what I like.
Why are you so scared of falling apart
Intimidating me for falling apart
Stay on your knees with your cross and don’t tell me you know so
The world is my playground too and I refuse to follow.

As a child I had at least three imaginary friends that I can recall. There was Incredible, the invisible octopus, Skyrocket, the invisible seal and Harold, the ghost cowboy. Harold typically wore a white sheet with a black cowboy hat and under the sheet he had jeans, light brown chaps and cowboy boots. Harold also sported a shiny purple facemask over his sheet. One year I went to my own Halloween party as Harold but had to take off my sheet to bob for apples. Great memories.

CT-21-0408, nicknamed "Echo," as he was known for "echoing" the standard rules and procedures established for clones, was a clone trooper who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Early in his career, Echo lived within Tipoca City, the capital city of the planet Kamino, and trained in its military complex. As a clone cadet, Echo was part of the squad Domino Squad, overseen by the Siniteen bounty hunter Bric. Echo stayed with Domino Squad until the unit passed their final test; the completion of the test allowed the members of Domino Squad to become battle-ready clone troopers. For his first off-world assignment, Echo stood guard at Rishi Station, a listening post located on the moon of Rishi, where he and other rookie clone troopers were stationed. When the Confederate General Grievous implemented an attack on the Rishi Station to capture it before proceeding to Kamino. His plan, however, was thwarted by Echo, fellow troopers Fives, Hevy, and clone officers Cody and Rex. Echo, along with Fives, were rewarded with medals for their service on the Rishi moon and were inducted into the 501st Legion.
Several months later, both Echo and Fives returned to Kamino, and the two were present when Grievous, along with Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress, initiated their attack on Tipoca City. Following the retreat of Grievous and Ventress, which ended the battle, Echo and Fives were once again given accolades for their bravery and efforts, and became ARC troopers. Echo later participated in the rescuing of Jedi Master Even Piell, who was captured by Confederate forces and taken to the Citadel. Echo and his group—lead by Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker—found Piell in the prison, and, as they tried to escape with the Jedi Master, were stopped by the facility's warden, Osi Sobeck, and his battle droid force. As Echo and his team looked for an escape route that would lead them back to their shuttle outside of the Confederate prison, more of Sobeck's security droid forces attacked them. They found their shuttle, although it was being watched by stationed commando droids on various towers around the shuttle's landing platform. When a commando droid began to fire at the shuttle with a laser cannon, Echo tried to stop the droid. Yet, instead, the droid killed Echo, as well as destroying the shuttle in the process.

A shot of Omotesando Dori in Harajuku at 2:30am in the morning of Feb 15, 2014. The street is closed to traffic because the famous trees that line Omotesando Dori were losing branches under the weight of all of the snow. They had chainsaws out to cutup the broken trees. You can see a crew working on the right side in the distance. Because the road was closed, I was able to setup a tripod in the street to take some long exposure shots.
