LHAMA OU LAMA - Animal Símbolo do Peru.
As lhamas vivem na América do Sul, mais precisamente na Cordilheira dos Andes, onde as temperaturas são muito baixas. Elas medem até 2,40cm e podem pesar até 150 Kg. Algumas raças são criadas para fins estéticos e de companhia, cujo comportamento se assemelha a cães da raça poodles. A lhama é conhecida pelo seu estilo calmo, andar devagar... mas cuidado! Irrita-se facilmente. Pelo seu comportamento imprevisível, a lhama foi considerada o oitavo animal mais irritável do mundo! Quando irritada, espirra seu muco na direção do objeto de sua irritação. A lhama é um animal domesticado para a utilização no transporte de carga, produção de lã, carne e couro. É o animal símbolo do Peru.
