The cursive word "pencils" is hand embroidered and rests on machine stitched notebook paper-inspired lines. All this cuteness is done on a beautiful natural cotton and the other side is heavyweight vintage floral fabric. The lining is from a vintage Vera bed sheet and the zipper is black.
This zipper pouch pencil case is my own pattern, wider at the base makes it roomier inside. It measures 9.5" wide and 4" high.

I had to brush up on my writing skills today to help this precocious little thing practice her cursive.
One of the best quotes I've heard.
My fingers look tan, but I promise you.. it's only the picture; I blend in with white walls.

Staying Alive
Call me crazy but I just spent three evenings reading and writing part of George Washington's Farewell Address in 1796.
I said to myself - I finished Harry Potter series, I can go through this. 😂

Seriously, it is like reading a prophecy.
Or maybe we have never ever changed.
Maybe a history is always repeating itself.
So many words and phrases I like from this six or seven-thousand-word address.
"...the sweet enjoyment of partaking, in the midst of my fellow-citizens, the benign influence of good laws under a free government, the ever-favorite object of my heart."
The ending shows such a great love for a country.
Less than a week until Election Day here in the US.
And I think I am done writing cursive this year. 😂 (Special thanks to my grade school - making all of us writing cursive for a whole year or two.)
Translation:
What are you doing at school?
Do you learn well?
Do you pay attention?
Do you read loudly and clearly?
Do you write nicely and correctly?
Do you like to do arithmetic?
Do you get all As? (Lit: Do you get all 1s)?
