Volcanic emissions ('vog") form the current eruption in Puna are causing injury and defoliation to many many plants downwind fo the rift zone. Large areas of the invasive strawberry guava (Psidium cattleianum) have been almost completely defoliated. Fortunately, the native forest trees such as ‘ōhi‘a (Metrosideros polymorpha), kōlea (Myrsine lessertiana), māmaki (Pipturus albidus), 'ohe mauka (Polyscias hawaiensis), and ‘ēkaha ferns (Asplenium nidus) and hāpu‘u (Cibotium glaucum) seem to be much less affected by the vog.

The current castle was begun in 1575 by the 6th Laird of Fraser, Michael Fraser, on the basis of an earlier tower, and was completed in 1636. Castle Fraser, one of the Castles of Mar, is built on the ‘Z-plan’ design. It was modernised in a classical style in the late 18th century
During the civil war period the Fraser family were covenanters. As a result the castle was sacked in 1644 by the Marquis of Montrose.
The castle featured in the film, "The Queen".

Trade Facilitation Programme – Information Session and Annual Award Ceremony
The Trade Facilitation Programme (TFP) currently includes over 104 Issuing Banks in the EBRD region and more than 800 Confirming Banks worldwide.
This event offerED the opportunity to network with the EBRD’s most active issuing and confirming banks. Panellists included representatives from the World Trade Organisation, International Chamber of Commerce and EBRD’s Chief Economist Office who discussed current economic development and consequent challenges for international trade and the trade finance sector.
The TFP Annual Award Ceremony concluded the event, featuring recognition of The Most Active EBRD TFP banks and Best Transactions in 2013.

Meiji Shrine (明治神宮 Meiji Jingū?), located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is the Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken.[1] When Emperor Meiji died in 1912 and Empress Shōken in 1914, the Japanese people wished to pay their respects to the two influential Japanese figures. It was for this reason that Meiji Shrine was constructed and their souls enshrined on November 1, 1920.[2]
After the emperor's death in 1912, the Japanese Diet passed a resolution to commemorate his role in the Meiji Restoration. An iris garden in an area of Tokyo where Emperor Meiji and Empress Shōken had been known to visit was chosen as the building's location. Construction began in 1915, and the shrine was built in the traditional Nagarezukuri style and is made up primarily of Japanese cypress and copper. It was formally dedicated in 1920, completed in 1921, and its grounds officially finished by 1926.[3]
The original building was destroyed during the Tokyo air raids of World War II. The present iteration of the shrine was funded through a public fund raising effort and completed in October, 1958.[4]
Meiji Shrine was brought into the flow of current events with the 2009 visit of United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. After arriving in Tokyo on her first foreign trip representing the newly elected President Barack Obama, she made her way to this shrine in advance of meetings with Japan's leaders to show her "respect toward history and the culture of Japan." [5]
Meiji Shrine is located in a forest that covers an area of 700,000 square-meters (about 175 acres). This area is covered by an evergreen forest that consists of 120,000 trees of 365 different species, which were donated by people from all parts of Japan when the shrine was established. The forest is visited by many people both as a spiritual home of the people and as a recreation and relaxation area in the center of Tokyo.[2] The shrine itself is comprised of two major areas:

The Naien is the inner precinct, which is centered on the shrine buildings and includes a treasure museum that houses articles of the Emperor and Empress. The treasure museum is built in the Azekurazukuri style.

The Gaien is the outer precinct, which includes the Meiji Memorial Picture Gallery that houses a collection of 80 large murals illustrative of the events in the lives of the Emperor and his consort. It also includes a variety of sports facilities, including the National Stadium, and is seen as the center of Japanese sports. It also includes the Meiji Memorial Hall, which was originally used for governmental meetings, including discussions surrounding the drafting of the Meiji Constitution in the late 19th century. Today it is used for Shinto weddings.

Current setup for home office, a little tight for space, but it functions well.

Giraffe
The giraffe (Giraffa) is a genus of African even-toed ungulate mammals, the tallest living terrestrial animals and the largest ruminants. The genus currently consists of one species, Giraffa camelopardalis, the type species. Seven other species are extinct, prehistoric species known from fossils. Taxonomic classifications of one to eight extant giraffe species have been described, based upon research into the mitochondrial and nuclear DNA, as well as morphological measurements of Giraffa, but the IUCN currently recognises only one species with nine subspecies.
The giraffe's chief distinguishing characteristics are its extremely long neck and legs, its horn-like ossicones, and its distinctive coat patterns. It is classified under the family Giraffidae, along with its closest extant relative, the okapi. Its scattered range extends from Chad in the north to South Africa in the south, and from Niger in the west to Somalia in the east. Giraffes usually inhabit savannahs and woodlands. Their food source is leaves, fruits and flowers of woody plants, primarily acacia species, which they browse at heights most other herbivores cannot reach. They may be preyed on by lions, leopards, spotted hyenas and African wild dogs.
