I painted the shed in Cuprinol Garden Shades Country Cream.

Had an accident with a tin of Cuprinol!

Our pretty pale blue shed makes our garden sunny!

Loving painted (well, heavily woodstained) by my fair hand, which is not quite so fair for having been in the sun for hours.

The replacement pendulum with a coat of Cuprinol Ultimate.

Cuprinol Garden Shades - Forget-Me-Not

Dogon Tribe Container.

Here’s the story I was sold with the container (I am a novice at this form of art)

Hogan' s magic pot - container.

In the center of a Dogon village is the residence the Hogan. The Hogan or priest performs a variety of social and political functions. He is the master of trade and commerce and oversees planting and harvesting rituals.

He is shown ridding what looks like a wild beast, perhaps a Leopard.

The lid looks to be some kind of duck.

The Item has had woodworm at some time but has been treated by me around 1st August 2008

Treated again for no reason but to keep it safe, June 2022 with Cuprinol low odour formula.

Age perhaps 1950s ?

The Birdcage's south western rain strip had denatured and shed its paint and the filler covering the countersunk screws.

After removing any loose, residual paint, the strip was treated with cuprinol and wood hardener to cure the soft spots before filler was applied to the screw holes and cracks in the timber were filled.

A bead of mastic was then run along both sides of the rain strip where it touched the roof. It was then smoothed out to create a water proof seal before more was then smeared over the screw holes and cracks.

Zinsser 1-2-3 primer is in the process of being applied. A coat of brushing filler will then be applied before it receives a coat, or tw, of micaceous iron oxide top coat.

What is the best paint for log cabins? You should decide whether you want latex paint or oil-based paint. Oil-based paint is better for outdoor projects, while latex paint is better for indoors. Oil-based paints are great for outdoor projects too, as they can be durable and protect the wood's original finish. Oil-based paint is good for stains and resists water. Oil-based paints are also better for wood cabins.

Cuprinol Garden Shades

If you're planning to paint your log cabin, you should choose a weatherproof paint like Cuprinol Garden Shades. This paint is easily applied and doesn't have a strong smell. Once dry, it forms a weatherproof coat and reveals the natural wood grain. This paint is widely available from garden centres and comes in various colours and sizes. Buying in bulk will save you money and you can use it for a few different projects.

It is recommended to use a primer before applying this paint. If the wood is dark or has an open end grain, you may need a second coat. It's important to allow enough drying time between coats so the first coat dries completely. Alternatively, you can choose to use Rust-Oleum Chalky Finish Furniture Paint for a rustic look.

If you're considering a wood treatment, you'll need to consider its benefits for log cabins. UV rays from the sun will fade the natural colour of timber. A high-quality paint will protect your garden building against fading.

Tricia's paint was getting too thick and some seams needed recaulking so we burnt-off down to the wood, gave her a good coat of Cuprinol and a new paint job. A bit tricky afloat but the water line was finished in the dry dock.

2012- early summer. I bought 4 tons of 'Teale' shingle and laid this over weed suppressant material. I had originally wanted to make a Mediterranean -type garden, so decided to paint all the wooden fence panels in Cuprinol white wood dye to get a sunny, light affect. It's a lovely satin sheen which looks fabulous at every time of day. I think it works really well with the shingle and really adds to a Mediterranean 'hot' garden

Lovely when the hard landscaping was finished and I could get to the 'fun' part of plant buying! (And many thanks to my sister who did almost all of the fence painting and helped me move 4 tons of shingle from front to back garden!)

(Bunty when 3 months old having a sniff!)

Moved in our first proper studio, with business rates and everything. We’ll never forget that shed and the absence of the faint whiff of Cuprinol took some adjusting to.
