About the closest you can get to a Koala in Victoria - they're protected here, and you're not allowed to touch them (unlike South Australia).

Cuddles was loved so much that her ears fell off. Or maybe it was the cats.

I once co-wrote a story about a stuffed bunny named Cuddles that was loved so much that she got all raggy looking. And then the children got a new bunny, and poor Cuddles was placed in the toy chest seemingly forgotten. But the new bunny wasn't as soft and cuddly from being loved. Eventually the children learned to love both bunnies.
