This was cute ... I barely noticed this loving couple, a mother and yearling calf moose, cuddling against the cold, only their faces visible behind the snowbank. Near the donjek River, Yukon Territory.

Harold isn't quite a baby anymore but he still loves to cuddle with Mommy.

The ranger thought the baby was just one day old. The adult could be its mama, but could also be an aunt... Javelinas are very familial, and any female in the group (there were about 15 total between adults and youngsters) will attend to any baby that approaches.

Cuddles was extensively licking and gaurding one of her front paws. She was sedated and we ruled out a foreign body.

She is my personal favorite LDD. I love her.
