Icelandic horses weigh between 330 and 380 kilograms (730 and 840 lb) and stand an average of 13 and 14 hands (52 and 56 inches, 132 and 142 cm) high, which is often considered pony size, but breeders and breed registries always refer to Icelandics as horses.

Several theories have been put forward as to why Icelandics are always called horses, among them the breed's spirited temperament and large personality. Another theory suggests that the breed's weight, bone structure and weight-carrying abilities mean it can be classified as a horse, rather than a pony.

The breed comes in many coat colors, including chestnut, dun, bay, black, gray, palomino, pinto and roan. There are over 100 names for various colors and color patterns in the Icelandic language. They have well-proportioned heads, with straight profiles and wide foreheads. The neck is short, muscular, and broad at the base; the withers broad and low; the chest deep; the shoulders muscular and slightly sloping; the back long; the croup broad, muscular, short and slightly sloping. The legs are strong and short, with relatively long cannon bones and short pasterns. The mane and tail are full, with coarse hair, and the tail is set low. The breed is known to be hardy and an easy keeper. The breed has a double coat developed for extra insulation in cold temperatures.

3 female baboons cuddling at the Edinburgh Zoo

Hickory tussock moth caterpillar - (I believe) and they are NOT cuddly! Their hairy spines are considered poisonous, causing skin irritations if handled. If this one was hoping to wrap in a leaf he needs to think bigger!

A tawny owl,in Barrow market today.

Maisie didn't want me to feel left out, so she popped over for a cuddle from me! Such a sweetie!

One of the two girls together with her mom, cuddling and starting to yawn. So cute!

My two cats --- they like to cuddle in the powder room sink. The one at the top is an orange tabby named Pumpkin, the white one is Jazzy.

We stopped in at a Halloween store today. They actually don't open until tomorrow, but the manager guy wanted us to look around?

We found this costume in the kids section. Heh. Not so much, but it was pretty funny and I had to take this picture for Sean :P

Playing outside is exhausting....for all of us :D

Time for a little cuddle before nap

Our grandchildren were with us when we picked Mitzi up and Travis was able to quiet her on the ride home. Since then they have always had a close bond.

This is my biggest bunny yet, being cuddled by my sweetie!

Here's Tim sitting with Maisie, Sarah's dog. Tim is a bit of a dog magnet, I have to say!

You can prep for a shot, but sometimes you need a bit of luck too.

As this train was still pulling into the station, I took several shots in quick succession. It was only after I reviewed my captures that I spotted this one with the couple framed by the window.

One of them is wearing red. They are the only two distinguishable people in the shot... like I said, I got lucky!

I want to introduce my sweet little dragon girl, Risi. She's a CuartosDoll Lell that I got in 2020 and haven't taken photos of before.

I feel so bad but luckily she has one of her owners to snuggle with as compensation.

....no editing, just a crop.

Couch cuddles are some of the best cuddles <3
