Merzbow
Masami Akita (born 1956 in Japan) started his Merzbow project in 1979. Inspired by Kurt Schwitters, Vienna Actionism, Dadaism, psychedelia and prog-rock, Akita decided to create a new, sonic expression that broke with all musical norms. His aim was to combine Schwitter’s idea of refuse as artistic material with the most ecstatic highlights of rock music. The result was modern noise music, and Merzbow is currently easily the greatest and best known artist of this genre. Akita is also the most active, with over 300 releases to his name (including Merzbox – a collection of 50 cds), and he shows no sign of slowing the pace. In recent years, Akita, who is a vegan, has spoken out on behalf of animal rights and used his name as the leader of noise music to promote this cause.
VOID OV VOICES
Attila Csihar (born 1971 in Hungary) is already a legend of black metal music. As a vocalist, his unique style of singing combines metal music’s vocal techniques with contemporary music’s extended use of the voice. During the last half of the 1980s, he was the leader of the Hungarian band Tormentor, which is now recognised as the founder of this genre. When the Norwegian black metal scene emerged in the early 90s, Csihar was invited to sing on the now legendary Mayhem record De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. Subsequently, Csihar worked with the more experimental band Plasma Pool, before he again joined Mayhem in 2004, after Maniac, the band’s vocalist for 10 years, left. During the last few years, he has also been a vocalist in the drone cult metal band Sunn0))). Voidovvoices is Csihar’s new solo project, in which he concentrates exclusively on voice and samplers.

в тот год [когда Ю Цзын покинул горы, умел смеяться он и видел свет он, хотел больших серьёзных перемен он] попасть на preparty (лайв проходил в ночью накануне первого дня Примы) смогли не только лишь все, т.к. Chairlift выступали с модными и популярными Beach Fossils, третьей группой были Kindness — случился овераншлаг, как все любят, т.к. орги немного просчитались с количеством страждущих
за пару часов до этого в Барсе состоялся бесплатный концерт на огромной площади Arc de Triomf с The Wedding Present и Black Lips — сходили ещё и туда в поисках приключений и там по толпе стало понятно что все прилетели и проникнуть в Apolo будет не просто, к счастью рано утром я успел прочитать сообщение [инопланетного разума], о том что желающим попасть ночью на main Apolo нужно взять браслет Примы и заранее зарегистрироваться, кстати параллельно в La(2) (другой зал Apolo, там есть ещё La (3) — не благодарите), проходил лайв Void Ov Voices, где завывал Attila Csihar из Mayhem и Sunn O))) — интересно был ли там кто-нибудь, в общем несмотря на две очереди на входе (для тех кто зачекинился утром и тех кто по счётчику) — чад кутежа удался!
позже Chairlift заедут в Барсу летом 2016 и сыграют уже на большой (ладно средней) сцене, с Venom и Psychic TV, так-то!

Attila Csihar & Sunn O))) @ Tavastia, Helsinki, Finland, 27-08-2016
Пока некоторые стояли в очереди в Новую Голландию, лениво поправляя бабушкины очки, и лакая смузи с тонко нарезанными(на слайсере) ломтиками панкейка, мы дико поугорали в одном из пригородов Санкт-Петербурга, с крафтовым IPA, под апокалиптический drone/doom, например.
Впервые Сан попались мне на Примавере, где же ещё, и это было 29.05.2009, накануне ДР, после My Bloody Valentine, и перед Sonic Youth, ради которых и был затеян вояж. На той же Примавере выступили St Etienne, Spectrum, Yo La Tengo, J.Maus, Ariel Pink, Jesu, A Certain Ratio и Шеллак конечно, да, +200 других людей, типа невыносимого уже Нила Янга. Сан выступали всего лишь вдвоём, и в середине сета возникла вынужденная пауза, потому что им всё-таки удалось своими запилами почти сжечь аппарат сцены ATP, в тот момент #прояснилось - даже в Барсе бывают epic fail'ы!
Зимой они внезапно решили начать свой очередной тур из Финляндии, и таким образом 19.01.2010, все кто хотел, увидели их в лабораторных условиях Тавастии - тот концерт стал одним из лучших, total recall: deep-sky-object.livejournal.com/52221.html
В конце 2010 стало известно, что O))) назначены кураторами Roadburn 2011, и лайнап получился такой, что нельзя было просто так взять и не поехать! Тогда они сыграли с экспериментальным японцем Keiji Haino (15.04.2011), Attila тоже фигурировал, правда большую часть действа он почему-то лежал на полу (видимо перебрал накануне - котики должны страдать). Кроме того, на фест завезли Wardruna, Swans, Earth, Ramesses, Gogflesh, Jesse Sykes, Wovenhand, Year of No Light, Ufomammut, Cough, Yakuza, Voivod, Alcest, Blood Ceremony, и ещё групп 50 - и это был первый Rb, на котором я побывал, и с тех пор не прекращаю, потому что это практически Примавера по лайнапу, только с уклоном в #heavypsych, #drone, #doom +немного #blackmetal.
Ещё через N-лет коллектив неизбежно окажется в Москве (11.08.2015), но тут я всё пропустил - #показалось, что или клуб развалится от сверхнизких частот, или что-нибудь перегорит - не хотелось портить впечатление после всего вышеуказанного, но судя по рассказам всё обошлось, и позже издали винил с msk концерта, под многозначительным названием «Нежить». К тому же с ними были заявлены Phurpa, а за пару лет до визита в Москву, альбом Phurpa - Trowo Phurnag Ceremony (2010), O'Malley издал на своём собственном лейбле - Ideologic Organ, чем сильно поспособствовал росту популярности этого проекта тибетского обертонного тантрического пения, в мире любителей подобной музыки, и я бывал пару раз на их концертах - впечатлён!
Наконец в эту субботу (27.08.2016), группа снова завернула в Suomi. Why not, и вот те кто кое-кто уже где-то там. Ещё немного IPA по пути на бывшую кабельную фабрику, где выставка Bowie, которая работала последний день, и мы успели туда за час до закрытия, ура! Хотя я думал, что всё будет по-другому - осмотр занял примерно 10 минут (всего! хаха), но зато там вокруг отличное пространство, с морем в двух шагах.
В Тавастию ходит абсолютно разношёрстная публика, или скорее финны так специально наряжаются перед концертами , но никакой полиции, или громил на входе - полная беспечность/безнаказанность, и это прекрасно! Город постепенно приходил в своё обычное пятнично-субботнее состояние (те кто бывал в Хельсинки ночью с пт на сб поймут о чём я).
Концерт начался с дыма, как они это любят, и вдруг в тумане заиграла песня King Crimson - I Talk To The Wind, в этот момент я чуть не упал, потому что буквально некоторое время назад открыл для себя ранний KC, и в частности их первый, невероятно красивый альбом 1969 года, к тому же я всю жизнь любил эту песню, думая правда, что это трек группы Opus III, но нет. Наконец вышел Attila и началось - всё это конечно же стоит хотя бы раз увидеть своими глазами, через записи подобные вибрации не передаются никак.
Играли почти два часа, спев несколько песен по 15-20 минут, сетлиста нет, но там было что-то типа: Defeating Earth's Gravity, Kannon, Wine And Fog, Hunting & Gathering (Cydonia), Aghartha - начали с шаманских песнопений Аттилы (в духе Phurpa) во время которых на сцену незаметно вышли остальные, гипнотизируя аудиторию выкручиванием ручек, так что задрожала одежда, после чего был акт, где на тромбоне выступил Steve Moore (он же Steb Mo - ранее клавишник Earth, в Сан играет на trombone/organ), и на финише Аттила переоделся из монашеской робы в свой легендарный метало-зеркальный плащ, и O)))тцы вдарили на всю катушку - все ручки к тому моменту уже были повёрнуты вправо.
По окончании лайва музыканты спокойно вышли в бар Тавастии, где и продолжили общаться с народом, что меня очень удивило, нет, никакого панибратства, но они оказались совершенно адекватными и приветливыми ребятами.
Тем временем crew грузили аппаратуру - тут есть фотка их грузовика набитого винтажными девайсами - не такой уж он и большой, как выяснилось. Судя по инету, ламповый Sunn Model T (1974) стоит ~2500-3000$, правда их уже давно не выпускают (эту контору когда-то выкупил Fender).
Стивен на финишной прямой, в баре, был уже изрядно накидавшись, хотя и помогал(пытался) грузить аппарат тоже, потому что на сцене они традиционно передают друг другу некую бутыль(и не одну), и возможно там не минералка. Тем не менее, немного с ним поговорили - он отлично помнит Тегина (Aleksei Tegin, Phurpa), но на предложение позвать уже наконец какую-нибудь группу из России на Роадбёрн, лишь улыбнулся, понятно что не он этим занимается, но если они снова будут кураторами, то посмотрим. Кстати, мы всё же спросили как ему звук в Москве, он сказал: ну это же Москва (понимайте как хотите).
Они ещё подождали у входа, пока всё догрузят, поболтали с народом и их увезли на такси в отель (Грега, Steve и Stephen'a), но Void остался! После чего этот простой венгр - Аттила Габор Чихар из Mayhem, начал выяснять, куда бы ещё тут сходить - там сразу нашлось много желающих его проводить, хотя по субботам во все заведения Хельсинки стоят очереди, если вы не знали, потому что центр HEL - как наша Думская ночью, правда все эти модные/нарядные котики примерно к 2-3 часам (что там/что тут) - превращаются в муми-троллей, сорян. Когда мы рано утром шли на поезд, думали что сейчас наверняка встретим около вокзала Аттилу, сидящего на поребрике.
Обратный поезд был в 6:20, и примерно 620 будильников помогли его всё-таки не пропустить (после всего что было), к тому же я резко вспомнил прохладную историю своего перелёта из Барселоны в этом году, через DME, вместо HEL.
Хотел бы ещё заметить, что судя по тому что я вижу на Роадбёрне, в данном жанре, именно в части живых выступлений - только две группы приближаются по накалу(несмотря на очевидные различия): Bong и Conan - зацените при случае (тем кто ищет что-то похожее), так-то на Rb полно и других, более чем прекрасных команд. Хотя, что касается аппаратуры, и умения гипнотизировать аудиторию, «играя» по сути две ноты на протяжении полутора часов - у Сан просто нет конкурентов, плюс благодаря появлению в составе Attila Csihar (а это действительно уникальный вокалист) - они могут устраивать настоящее шоу, и в этом тоже преуспели.
Кстати, после Sunn O))) к заведению пришли представители generation next (пост-школьники, и очевидно на дискотеку), нетерпеливо расталкивая локтями легенд мирового drone/doom, но те лишь улыбались в ответ.

The Structures of Everyday Life: Full Circle unites Western harmony and Eastern philosophy to mark both the birth and death of John Cage. It responds to the unique acoustics of the Civic Centre entrance dome by slowly building and dismantling dense drones in evolving cycles. Across a six-hour day, time is unfolded on multiple scales, across clock time, lunar waxing/waning, and seasonal celestial cycles. Full Circle embodies the unity of constancy and change reflected in the I Ching.

Susan Stenger was born in Buffalo, New York. After intensive classical flute studies in Prague and New York, she joined Petr Kotik's Brooklyn-based SEM Ensemble and devoted herself to performing music of twentieth century composers, including John Cage, Christian Wolff and Phill Niblock.
