Busy crossroads in my locality. This used to be a roundabout but much better now from a photographic point of view
Thank you Pareerica for this texture.................
by Robert Johnson
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
Asked the Lord above for mercy, "Save me if you please."
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
Nobody seemed to know me, everybody passed me by.
I'm going down to Rosedale, take my rider by my side.
I'm going down to Rosedale, take my rider by my side.
You can still barrelhouse, baby, on the riverside.
You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy Willie Brown.
You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy Willie Brown.
And I'm standing at the crossroads, believe I'm sinking down.
I absolutely adore this photo! My brother was at a time in his life where he needed to make big decisions. Taken at dusk. Love the lights!

They say that magic becomes real at the crossroads
The places not quite here
Yet not quite there
The balance points between “was” and “will be”
When the doors between worlds open
And possibilities are unleashed

Felt like putting up another photo of dadah......... GLEN HARROW!
Now you just knew I was going to say that!
I thought the signposts were so cute as up until I saw this I didn't realise that the cottages had names.
I actually don't think this cottage is part of the Group that people stay in as it hasn't been renovated like the others and the garden was fabulously wild.
Now this has been twiddled, tweaked, poked and prodded, just don't ask me what I did as I can't remember! I'm just a twiddler remember!!!

Operation Crossroads was a series of nuclear weapon tests conducted by the United States at Bikini Atoll in mid-1946. It was the first test of a nuclear weapon after the Trinity nuclear test in July 1945. Its purpose was to investigate the effect of nuclear weapons on naval ships.
Crossroads consisted of two detonations, each with a yield of 23 kilotons:[1] Able was detonated at an altitude of 520 feet (158 m) on July 1, 1946; Baker was detonated 90 feet (27 m) underwater on July 25, 1946
To prepare the atoll for Crossroads, Bikini's native residents agreed to evacuate the island of Bikini. Many were moved by the LST 861 to the island of Rongerik. Later, in the 1950s, a series of large thermonuclear tests rendered Bikini unfit for subsistence farming and fishing. Because of radioactive contamination, Bikini remains uninhabited as of 2011, though it is occasionally visited by sport divers. Although there are claims that participants in the Crossroads tests were well protected against radiation sickness, the Oscar-nominated documentary Radio Bikini showed footage of Navy sailors wearing little or no protection during their inspection of the target ships only hours after the explosions, even though some of the observer ships were caught in the fallout of the Baker explosion. In addition, the documentary revealed that Navy ships used contaminated water from the area for drinking and bathing purposes after the blast. One study showed that the life expectancy of participants was reduced by an average of three months.

I was inspired to try this by Oh Kaye too !
A major freeway carves its way north and south through downtown Seattle, dividing it from Capitol Hill to the east. These cross streets, Boren and Pine, create a giant floating X over I-5 and keep the surface streets connected. Many a Capitol Hill resident walks this route from their downtown job or the bus terminal to their apartment on CH.

In the depths of solitude's embrace,
Where lonely souls find no solace,
A crossroads emerges, bright but cold,
Where lost hearts linger, stories untold.
The crossroads watches, with somber eyes,
As these souls battle their internal cries,
Their yearning for a companion, for a hand to hold,
Lost in the crossroads, their stories begin to unfold.

Półwysep Helski (Hel), the place where I love to spend my summer holidays.
Kinda funny, apart from the main cities, the bay, the seaport and the railway, it shows you even how far the shop and the toilets are :)
Using slide film with medium format is gratifying, especially with 6x9, when one sees the images coming off the reel as large as life. Until recently, I'd forgotten how much I love seeing those images in real color, and how my brother and I used to take rolls of slide film and go downtown in Boston years and years ago, shooting with the used cameras we bought saving up our paper route money. While Portra and Ektar are great, my heart belongs to transparency film with all it's inherent limitations.

This is dedicated to Sarah Thank you for the wonderful testimonial....I am touched by your thoughtfulness.
Have you ever been at a crossroads in you life...Sometimes we all face Crossroads, I think it is the reality of life really. It may be about family, or work or friends and relationships.
I don't think it is the actual reality of crossroads that shake us, it is more they way we handle them.Or how others handle them that affect us. You know like "friends" for example, if you are a true friend nothing and I mean NOTHING shakes that....you are not a part time friend, you are a friend for life aren't you? You don't shoot off an email saying, hey I am busy, catch up later, you take the time to be there..... Don't you think...??
Well I do, maybe my idea is different from others though. It has been known to happen. I understand people get busy, but ....
I feel like maybe I am at a crossroads in my Flickr life right now.... I feel like having a major rant, but then I think,,,hmmmm should I , should I not.... lol I am trying to be cautious and diplomatic, but you know some people just "_ _ _ _ and vinegar " me off lol
Maybe I should turn this the other way and tell the people that I love love here what I think..... the others...not worth mentioning lol Don't give them credence, after all they don't deserve that kinda great music reference to them lol
So here I go...............thank you to the true and faithful ;) Thank you to the wonderful ones, you know who you are...the rest..expect an email : ) Car

ps Thanks for the comments on the colour, I originally did this as a HDR and it came out kinda strange and not what I was wanting, I lost that when I lost the hard drive so I redid it ( not HDR) last night and am much happier with it... :)
