66112 with 6W02 is almost loaded and ready to go forward to the crossover at Llysfaen where the waiting 66 will attach to the rear for the journey back to Crewe. Note the missing platform loop semaphore - it was the first item to be removed!
The result of my cutting tracks a few days ago is these two crossovers. Both are operated by Power Functions M-motors, controlled by two receivers and a battery box in the signal box in the background. In the top right you see the remote controls.
Visible in the foreground are the MOC cards we use at brick.ie.
Superb peice of track construction which in actual fact would probably not be seen in full scale railways. .Except possilbly at the entrance of a large terminus. Track scale is "O"
This is a revised version of my Crossover frame. This one is a brickblend of Lego and Block Tech parts.

Transdev Alstom Citadis X05 LRVs 09 & 10 come over the crossovers at Central Chalmers Street on a UP L3 Circular Quay service. Whenever a LRV comes over these crossovers, it goes unnoticed from the amount of noise

The Red Arrows had to do a flat display as the cloud bas was so low but as ever, they put on a wonderful display of aerobatic formation flying.
After building one side I decided to do the other half and control the whole thing with one of my trusted old RCX's.
The slider mechanism is pretty much what you see here. The knob wheel hits a touch sensor to make sure the camshaft makes 90 degree turns. The other two touch sensors are for control. You may notice that I haven't got around to opening the crossover and removing the internal sliders.
Having the two sides linked this way means that you have 4 different positions rather than 16 but it makes controlling the crossover much simpler.
As you can see the left button changes the two yellow sliders, the right button changes the red ones.
The RCX program has no way of knowing the position so you need to make sure it's in all straight when you start the program. From then on the (simple) logic knows whether to turn left or right when you push either button.

New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R62A car 2160 (Bombardier, 1984-1987) is the lead motor on an uptown 1 train seen arriving at its final station, Van Cortlandt Park-242nd St, crossing over all three tracks to enter the stub-end terminal of the IRT Broadway-7th Avenue Line.
