Extremely old marble skull and crossbones from the Camposanto in Pisa, Italy. The building dates from 1278 and the tombs and monuments within date from the 14th to the 18th centuries.

I paint on shoes that are canvas material. Generally I would charge for the price of the shoe + $50.00 for labor. If it is made of canvas material, I can paint on it.
All shoes are wearable and waterproof. With normal use, the paint on the shoes will last as long as the shoes. The paint will NOT wash off with regular use, and can be spot cleaned with a mild soap.

The main gates of the Church of St. Nicholas in Deptford contain two distinctive 17th-century skull and cross bone carvings, typical of the "memento mori" designs of the era, which were designed to remind the congregation of the inevitability of death.
Thought at first it was a bow tie underneath the skull and crossbones but its actually a hourglass showing that your time is numbered or the sands of time are running out.

Ah....this is much better. I like the skulls and crossbones better than the halloween plastic rings. I also painted faces on the black ornaments to help them show up on the tree. I think this will be the last Halloween tree I sell on Ebay as they do not seem to be making the black foil trees right now.

saw this with the trees in Grey Friar's graveyard in Edinburgh. Apprently the skull and crossbones signifies that the occupant is unknown or a freemason. Looks quite spooky to me.

Above the church north door was an image of the skull and crossbones. This was not for piracy, but a reminder of the death of all earthly life, in contrast with the eternal life that follows.
At MisiĂłn EspĂritu Santo, Goliad. Texas. Full name: Mission Nuestra Señora de la BahĂa del EspĂritu Santo de Zúñiga. The partially restored mission is at Goliad State Park, which I visited on March 16, 2021.
Early in the 18th century, the Spanish crown decided securing its claim to Texas required establishing settlements there. Unable to recruit willing settlers in Spain, the crown turned to missions as an alternative. A mission was a fortified village run by a few priests and supported by a few soldiers. The crown supplied seed money and the soldiers. An Indian group would be persuaded to abandon their nomadic ways, embrace the Roman Catholic faith and move into the mission. The priests instructed them in the faith and in farming, ranching and European skills. The soldiers instructed them in the use of European weapons and tactics. In this win-win arrangement, the crown got its settlement, the Indians got a more dependable food supply and the priests got souls for God. After a generation or two, the Indians no longer needed the mission and would leave it to settle in the vicinity. The mission church sometimes remained in service, to minister to the local community.

This is the Piermaster's House, near Albert Dock in Liverpool.
A wartime house (free entry).
The Pier Master's House or Dock Master's House, Albert Pierhead
Circa 1846
Grade II
This is the only one of a group of four 'Dock residences' at Albert/Canning Pier Head to survive the May Blitz of 1941.
Residences such as this were built all over the Dock Estate from 1801 onwards to house essential workers and by1846, there was a total of 40 of them. No other survives.
The provision of accommodation was a valuable addition to a man's income, but carried the penalty of making their tenants more available in the middle of the night!
The Pier Master's House lay derelict for many years before being restored, on the basis of extensive historical research, for museum use.
Adjoining it is a low block housing the Pier Master's Office and a delightful little police hut.
A Grade II listed building.

The shop assistants couldn't find Bronwyn's pre-ordered fairy toadstool cake - so they gave us this spectacular pirate ship instead! Bronwyn was happy. Her current favourite book is the Three Little Pirates - a swashbuckling feminist tale of 3 plucky girl pirates, who foil the plans of an evil pirate-ess who kidnaps their mermaid friend.
Perfect little bag for concealing your personal items (condoms, keys, makeup etc).
Please view my flickr profile to find out how you can have your own pouch.
