A shallow triangle with beaded edges, crocheted in a fancy stitch from the bottom center point (easy to choose to make it any size). This scarf-sized one took one ball (256 yds) DesigningVashti Lotus yarn. Add another ball for a full shawl size.
Shown worn with center point to the front.
Amigurumi Cupcake Lion is looking for a home. Measures approx. 3 1/2” x 4”.
This cupcake is vanilla flavored, decorated with a thick orange mane.
These beads remind me of pomegranate seeds.
100% slip stitch crochet with some new maneuvers I discovered so that the beads line up and stay put neatly, are equally visible on both sides, the color changes are clean, and the seam is invisible!
Just in time for a crochet jewelry class, and several in-depth slip stitch classes, that I'll be teaching over the next months.

These friendship bracelets are crocheted with silk (dark gray) and rayon (light gray) yarns. The silk is a single ply -- almost like raffia -- and was a gift from Prudence Mapstone. The rayon is firmly plied with a z-twist (yay!) and is called "Rayon 5 Wt" from Swallow Hill in Canada.
Both yarns are Tilli Tomas 100% silk; grey is plied and spun with large seed beads. Purple is "Exotica" (discontinued), unplied silk spun with genuine amethyst chips.

"Reclaimed" because the aquamarine gem chips are recycled from an old necklace.
"Poem" because of the river goddess Sabrina (Severn) referred to by John Milton in my all-time most favorite verse from 'Comus' beginning with "Sabrina Fair, listen where though art sitting" and ending with
....Goddess of the silver lake, listen and save."
Yarn is 100% sugar cane derived, so another poetic aspect of it for me is how the aquamarine chips look like sugar crystals, and how sweet water can taste sometimes.

This is a new design for my upcoming Slip Stitch Crochet class to illustrate the relationship between two kinds of slip stitch ribbings. Stretchy and fun to play with, it has a fascinating, beautiful texture. Also, a flattering frame for the face.
The center strip took 3 hours of a road trip so it comes along quickly. Surprisingly, the ruffled parts work up as fast or faster.
Strangely addictive to crochet.
