A break from the animals photos today for a simple flat lay of a magazine I was flipping through and a crochet pattern I'm contemplating trying next.

Finished up this lapghan (lap sized afghan) I've been working on for a few weeks and am pretty happy with the results. It's a Christmas gift for a friend of mine who loves Mickey Mouse, I wanted to make her a Mickey blanket but I didn't want it to be too in your face about it and I think this design has a nice subtly to it.
If anyone is interested in the pattern I used for the squares, it can be found free here on Ravelry and (free as well) here on abigurumii.com. They're pretty much the same pattern, but I used both for reference.
