Funny story about this paw.
When Sophia was a kitten, she got herself stuck underneath my boxspring, and sliced open her leg. She worked at getting it clean for who knows how long, and then came bounding out, playing with the dog, like nothing was wrong. I looked down, saw the cut, saw tendons, almost passed out, scooped her up and rushed her to the vet. Coincidentally, she was going in to get her girly bits taken care of the next day anyway, so she had a bit of a week.
When she came home from the vet, if she wanted you to pay attention to her, she would let out this pathetic little meow, and stick the paw out, as if to say, "Look. I hurt!" and of course, being the itty bitty kitty, she got all the attention and lovin's, and she soaked it up.
She's going to be 8 in October and ever since then, if she wants your attention, or wants to snuggle, or when she's sleeping...this paw gets stretched out. She will lay on me and stretch this paw out, and extend one claw and poke. (As if i wasn't aware of her 15lbs of mass laying on me.)
It's what makes Soph...Soph.
We are fostering and/or keeping these two turkeys and one funny banty hen while some guy tries to find a new place that'll let him take them back again. It's nice to have turkles back in the yard. I love them and their funny little noises.
(It's hard to take a good pic of some skittish turks while the dog circles the coop trying to figure them out, which results in them keeping on the move to stay away from him.)
Youtube is so silly these days so I figured I do a one stop shop.
A critter update featuring the wee baby bunnies!!
Toby and Jeff on the South Yuba River Trail between Edwards and Purdon Crossing. Always looking and listening for critters.
One side of her wings dried a little wrinkled. The silver dots on the outside wings were very reflective. This is an native American wild silk moth, although I was raising this one for the silk.

such a chubby guy - he is fascinating to watch when there is a sliding glass door between us. He is remarkably fast for being so big.

This is Sid. German shepherd/pit mix. He is just the right mix of protective and friendly.
