Preparatory work for a Cricut (computer-driven cutting device, like a plotter with a blade) piece. First the design, then the colors, then 4 separate layers (one for each color) which will be sent to the Cricut separately with the appropriate paper loaded, and then some variations on colors and combinations of layers.

Cozy features lovely, coordinating fabrics (100% cotton) that have been machine-quilted over a layer of batting and muslin lining. All seams have been finished and the binding has been hand-basted. A button or bow embellishment finishes off the look.

I picked up a Cricut at CKC Glendale last weekend. These are the cartridges I have. Two came with the unit (Accent Essentials and Plantin Schoobook). Simply Sweet was a special purchase for $30 when I bought the unit, then I got Calligraphy and my sister got me the Tear Drop cartridge. It's so much to take in!

Here is a fun card I made for the Hero Arts Summer theme challenge. I decide to just stamp all of the bottom left stamps onto a cream cardstock. I inked the stamps right on the packaging. I colored them in with Copics and added some stickles for details. I think this is a really cool technique and plan on using it much more. I distressed the cardstock and flowers with a chocolate chip stamp pad. The scroll is from the Home decor cart from Cricut, the flower was hand made using a scallop punch, and the leaves are just torn pieces of green paper. I hope you enjoy it.

The gift, frame, and circles were cut with my cricut. The gifts inside of the circles were stamped.

Paper cut (of my own designs of course!) by Cricut, a digital cutter, like an old-fashioned printer but with a blade.

~11 X 14 inches

This is the main piece I was working on, here it is only missing one piece, and the parts are still only taped down (not glued).

It's four sets of shapes cut from different pieces of paper, and laid out on a black background.

The tag cut with the Cricut makes a fun little gift card holder. The plaid strip is paper tape.

Glitter ornament - clear glass ball with Future Floor wax swirled around inside, poured out and super fine glitter poured in and shaken to cover. Vinyl words added on outside.

Decoupage in moments with the Cricut Imagine, that both prints and cuts each layer in a jiffy!

Paper cut of an iPad drawing by Cricut, a digital cutter. It's like an old-fashioned plotter but with a blade instead of a pen.

Experimenting with how thick the lines have to be, how detailed it can cut, how thick a piece of paper it can cut, the pros and cons of having all the shapes be closed, and the fabulous shadows you can make with the completed pieces. Like Calders made of paper.

Vanilla poundcake and then filled with lemon curd. Raspberry buttercream and a little bit of pink sugar sprinkled on top. Cricut was used to make the scallop wrappers and I added flip-flops also cut by the cricut.
