This Crescent Honeyeater is mostly found in Tasmania, Victoria and southern NSW in Australia and was a regular visitor to our front garden. He often allowed me to get within 3 or 4 feet while he was busy feeding and spreading the pollen around! Not sure of the name of the red flowering bush, but it was always attracting the feathered friends.

Happy Feathery Friday!

I'm waiting for the monsoons this year - should be any day now :)

Crescent Lake is a natural lake on the eastern side of the Cascade Range in the northwest corner of Klamath County. Crescent Lake is 4,000-acre lake in the west-central part of the state,

The Lunar crescent, nature's sidelit show. I guess I was like everyone else and took the moon for granted, when I started photography that was just one of the many things I began to pay attention too. I found myself studying the phase, the position, the relationship to the sun, the rise and setting location. For the Inspire Me Thursday shot I once again look the phases of the moon, shine it on!

BNSF 7393 leads H PVODEN around the curve at Crescent, Colorado. Monday mornings on the east side of the mountain have been consistent over the last month with M GJNY and H PVODEN both eastbound in the morning. Today was my only Monday off work to get trackside. After getting a heads up on this train, I made it to Crescent with 2 minutes to spare.

Stepping out my back door to check out my Christmas lights- had to make sure that Crescent Moon was in the image.

Taken in late November The red is from LED Flood lights against my birch trees.

Crescent ear ring and a heart pendant.

Spotted this tree on this evening walk.I liked the way the moon was framed by the tree branches .

Taken in front of the cabin we stayed in @ Lake Crescent Lodge looking East.

“The smile that flickers on baby's lips when he sleeps; does anybody know where it was born?

Yes, there is a rumor that a young pale beam of a crescent moon touched the edge of a vanishing autumn cloud, and there the smile was first born....”

On my bike ride the other day through Lower Summerland to Crescent Beach, I stopped here to eat my snack before heading back. This is looking East along the North side of the beach on Okanagan Lake. Most cabins/homes seem to have a boat ramp.

BNSF 539, although completely lettered for the BNSF, is probably the best looking warbonnet left. BNSF 552, on the other hand, is covered in graffiti and very faded.

Sunset from an overlook in Crescent City, California. The star effect is created by the lens' aperture shutter blades and stopping down as much as possible (f22 with this particular lens).

Amtrak 20 pulls to a stop at the station in Manassas, running more or less on time. From here, it's a short trek to Washington DC, where they'll take diesel power for the trip up to New York.

a lifer butterfly for me :-)

I have not seen any of the crescents before and had trouble distinguishing between the pearl, the northern and the tawny. Hope the one I chose was the right one !
