Bringing fictional creatures into existence within a live art and theatrical context.
Creature is a cross-disciplinary project led by SDNA in collaboration with pioneering digital media artists, neuro-scientists, electronic musicians, dancers and physical performers, and explores the ways in which we can bring fictional creatures into existence within a live art and theatrical context. The first stage of research focused on the exploration of the ideal conditions needed for the human imagination to conjure visions of a “Creature.”

The boys enjoy lying on our old California King-sized comforter, which we loosely form into a dog-sized bed.
It normally rests on the floor in our bedroom and sees frequent use, especially when the weather turns too warm to spend the night on The Big Bed with us.

Eine der schönsten Handschriften aus der Vatikanischen Bibliothek ist das mit prächtigen Miniaturen ausgestattete Tierbuch des Petrus Candidus, geschrieben um 1460 für Lodovico Gonzaga, illustriert aber erst im Laufe des 16. Jh. Basierend auf der Tradition antiker Autoren und vor allem des Physiologus werden real existierende Tiere ebenso detailliert beschrieben wie Fabelwesen und von einem kongenialen Maler ins Bild gesetzt.

This is Bill Reid, who has a number of pieces around town, including a large turtle with a chessboard on his back that's at the library and a penguin wearing a kilt and playing a fish-shaped trumpet mounted outside a bar. His creatures are strictly fictitious! I wouldn't care to own one, but they are fun to look at!
