Pilot Knob State Park
We are finally having the light breeze colored by these "Gentle Creatures" so named by Native Americans.
To me, it signals that the summer is going to start winding down, and signs of early autumn are just on the horizon.
It's nice to see such simple beauty in these trying times!

DRY Weather
My friend, we are not going through a good time, here the relative humidity of the air is very low and there are many fires in the forests (Environmental Protection Area). Criminal fires, very sad...
Little creatures like this are dying,
fewer and fewer animals in the wild...
Meu amigo, não estamos passando por um momento bom, aqui a unidade relativa do ar está baixissima e com muitos focos de incêndio nas florestas (Area de Proteção Ambiental). Incêndios criminosos, muito triste...

The entrance to a safe harbour is guarded by the Ogopogo, the green snake-like animal sitting on top of the billboard in the middle of the picture. The Ogopogo is a mythical supernatural creature that lives in the depths of Okanagan Lake. This serpentine-like creature, as far as I know, has only been seen mostly by tourists who photographed and videoed it. This marina, like others on the lake, is void of boats during winter. This is because the lake may freeze with winter temperatures damaging the boats. This winter has been the exception with very mild weather and no snow. Across the lake is the village of Naramata.
Along the Thames I met this two ferocious animals fighting and chasing each other. I found out later that they are North American minks. They escaped from fur farms and now they live in Britain.
There's a creature in my closet
I can hear him rumbling 'round
The demons screaming in the distance
Creates such a humbling sound
The monster that's outside my window
He's like family to me now
The things that people are afraid of
Never let me down

Song by Jelly Roll
Lyrics
There's a monster under my bed
And at my window there's a dragon
I accepted the challenge
It turned me into a savage
I broke a promise to myself again
I don't know why I am so vulnerable
They try to help but I won't let them in
I guess rock bottom's where I'm comfortable
Both my feet planted when most people would've panicked
I embraced the storm, I found beauty in what was damaged
I'm not afraid of the boogieman
Instead, I look at him like he's a friend
There's not a monster out there in the world
That's scarier than the one that's within
There's a creature in my closet
I can hear him rumblin' 'round
The demons screamin' in the distance
Creates such a humblin' sound
The monster that's outside my window
He's like family to me now
The things that people are afraid of
Never let me down
Not a sadist, no
But I'm hated so
While religious freaks say I'm the biggest beast
And that I've made it grow
When I spray this flow
I created more
Creatures unlike when I heated the mic
I'm a breed of the night but I'm tainted though
By the darkness, I'm binded
I sparked it and shined it
They find it 'cause mine is whoa
For that, they labeled me a demon seed
Want to disable N9na, see him bleed
Hinder me fatally and see them greed, no-oh (chea)
You would not believe the creature inside me
If you deceive Khalifahs are lively
We disagree when people defy me
Or tryna take his
Whatever the fuckery taught him, you don't wanna break this
You forsake his
What is sacred?
Then it's over, no matter what your faith is
I'm a creature
There's a creature in my closet
I can hear him rumblin' 'round
The demons screamin' in the distance
Creates such a humblin' sound
The monster that's outside my window
He's like family to me now
The things that people are afraid of
Never let me down
Yeah, I managed to get myself in trouble, all of this pain
Yeah, I'm down and the double-dosin', liquor's always to blame
If I could keep myself sober, I'd keep my hands to myself
I take a shot and it's over, that's how I end up in Hell (I do)
I hope I don't pass it down to my offspring (yeah)
They get everything from their daddy, feel like I'm addicted to all things (yeah)
Yeah, there's no reason to change, gone too far now
And I'm stuck in my ways, back at the bar now
They said I'm a flirt and they right (yeah), I ain't perfect, aight? (Yeah)
So when I'm thirsty and perkin' and purposely searchin' for somethin'
It's hurtin' me so
I just get back up and go, I just back out of a show
That's how it go, I knock the back out a ho
And next night act I don't know (Okay)
I think they be laughin' at me, hands be grabbin' at me
Feel like God let it happen to me
That'd be blasphemy
And at least it be happenin' naturally (Okay, yeah)
I think I better let it go (Yeah)
Either that or I gotta let her know
And I can't do that
There's a creature in my closet
I can hear him rumblin' 'round
The demons screamin' in the distance
Creates such a humblin' sound
The monster that's outside my window
He's like family to me now
The things that people are afraid of
Never let me down

All little creatures are beautiful... every living thing when it first sees life is born in beauty. What they grow to be is a different matter.

With its characteristic black and white-striped face, grey fur and short furry tail, the badger looks like no other UK mammal. Stocky, powerfully-built creatures, they typically weigh 10–12kg, with a body length of about 90cm. This makes them the biggest land predator in the UK. Info: Woodland Trust.

This is not just a play on words. The phrase indicates that every person and every creature, every object on Earth is important, should be respected and recognized - regardless of appearance, religion, ethnicity, wealth, riches. The earth itself is small and so important for us little people.
I spent a few minutes watching two squirrels chasing each other through the trees at the back of the garden earlier today and managed to get close to this one (this shot is uncropped) while they distracted each other. She is poised above the bird peanut feeder but keeping an eye on her counterpart.
A female Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis), hunting.
While these birds are indeed small and cute and colorful, they are actually hunters. Unlike many seed-eating/vegetarian birds their size, they eat small creatures.
This one definitely has prey in its sights...

Once again I see a snow creature here from on my walk yesterday. This one reminds me of a Samurai Warrior. What do you see? Perhaps you see just a pine tree weighted down with snow or, you see the Samurai Warrior too?
I appreciate each and every visit, comment and fave here on my little corner of Flickr. Have a super day!
The ground opens with a groan as she emerges from the fiery depths of hell. An omen of what's to come...
Still in a post surgical recovery (it will be a while yet) I cant venture too far from home and have not been ambitious enough to pick up a camera very often. That said, there's no shortage of subject matter with all the garden creatures in our back yard.
Regarding this image, I lost my toned B&W preset when I changed computers last winter and have been experimenting with getting similar results.

Griffon Vulture adult flight_w_ (Gyps fulvus)-6538
Like other vultures, it is a scavenger, feeding mostly from carcasses of dead animals which it finds by soaring over open areas, often moving in flocks. It establishes nesting colonies in cliffs that are undisturbed by humans while coverage of open areas and availability of dead animals within dozens of kilometres of these cliffs is high. These huge birds grunts and hisses at roosts or when feeding on carrion.
In many cultures around the world, particularly in Western societies, vultures are viewed with disdain. Commonly, people tend to look down on these birds as dirty, ugly, and unhygienic, failing to recognise their importance. People of other cultures, however, hold the vulture in high regard. This is true with the inhabitants of the Tibetan plateau, where vultures are part of traditional funerary customs. In this culture, people are not buried after death as a means of controlling preventable infectious diseases. Instead, the dead are laid to rest in the sky. Monks prepare the bodies of the deceased and set them on platforms to draw the attention of nearby vultures. The vultures discover these human bodies, ingesting them and carrying them off into the sky. Many people view this as one final good deed as the deceased is able to offer something to another living creature before going off to rest in the sky. This practice is not unique to Tibet, however. Historical evidence suggests it has been practiced by cultures around the world for over 11,000 years.
The maximum recorded lifespan of the griffon vulture is 41.4 years for an individual in captivity
