"Decoration" on the Scribbly Gum made by the larva of the Scribbly Gum Moth (Ogmograptis scribula)
We came across this strange creature on our long walk today.
There is a sign inviting you to add to his length and people have put more stones behind him but they have not been painted.

The dragonfly's a timid thing,
He's very pretty, too;
His lacy wings are clear as glass
And delicate as dew.
I don't know why the dragonfly
Has such a fearful name.
I never saw a dragon
That was nearly half as tame.
I know he's not a dragon, though,
With a dragon's evil eye,
For dragons like to spit out fire
And roar and terrify
This graceful creature settles down
To sit upon your hand.
So why it's named a dragonfly,
I'll never understand.
