Exhibition at Gallery Oldham...

Step back to the Carboniferous period. Visit tropical forests and swamps teeming with bizarre and ferocious ancient monsters, some of which had larger teeth than Tyrannosaurus rex! Meet the dinosaurs’ distant ancestors, the very first reptiles, the largest creepy-crawlies ever to live, and prehistoric animals unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
This blockbuster national touring exhibition features stunning 350 million year-old original fossils, reconstructed giant prehistoric animals, and skeleton casts from museums around the world, many of which have never been displayed in the UK before.
This exhibition shows what Oldham was like 300 million years ago and explores how the remains of these prehistoric plants were the source of the carbon which eventually formed coal. Suitable for prehistoric monster fans of all ages!

Gnoll Country Park, Neath. A fallen tree trunk in a quiet corner of the park. There are many surprises as you walk round this tree trunk!
I am not sure of the species here, but it seems to be some sort of tree creature of the marsh. 😉

Hopefully my new Macro lens will enable me to share details of the tiny creatures in my garden... in the meantime here is another robin, keen to show off how ideal the lens is for portraits. There are now 6 (3 pairs) to be seen from dawn to dusk so I can't even tell if it is male or female...
Apparently this is what my Doctors Surgery thinks the flu bug looks like. Now I've had this but the "man flu" version. Ladies what can I say, much worse than what you get.
Only kidding. Have a great Saturday. Still raining here in the UK. I think I might start building a boat.
Smearsett Scar seen from the summit of Pot Scar in the late afternoon sunlight. It was a beautiful afternoon and you can just make out the only other walkers I met up here, up on the distant summit of Smearsett.
That said, I had just spent 10 minutes chatting to a falconer exercising his Harris Hawk up on the escarpment. I may post a shot of the Hawk at some point, it was an surprising creature to find in the Yorkshire Dales!
A return to one of my favorite subjects, driftwood. This piece I found on Higbee Beach, in Cape May, New Jersey.
The honey bees really like the sweets-spire flowers . . . along with the carpenter bees, bumble bees, etc.
They’re there, frozen behind the glass, those creature skeletons, silent witnesses to a power they never understood. I don’t need to roar to make a room shake. One unbuttoned shirt, one sharp glance, and suddenly, everything stops. Leaning on my couch, I rule my own sanctuary, poised between elegance and danger. The kind of woman you watch too long… before realizing you’ve already crossed the line. 💀️️️

When you put the bits together they make strange animals. Sadly some bits seem to be missing.
My flesh creeps, my heart pounds, as the terrifying monster emerges from the seaweed jungle, crawling onto the rocky shore, with unkown but indubitably malicious intent, while an eider averts her gaze.. It's a real horror show.

This is a Summer Tanager found in a backyard in Houston, TX
