Yes, I use all these tools! If you saw the rest of the room...well its just as intensely crowded as this image is! How I can work in this is...well, I just don't know. I don't like it...but its all I have right now.

Why couldn't I have been an accountant..(computer, file cabinents and a calculator)- Ha! Anyone that doesn't need a lot of stuff....Oh I know! A Poet! All they need is paper and a pencil! :-)

Design Thinking uses timelines to anchor the past and present, and then it leaps forward in time by creating ‘what is not there, yet’ that is often expressed in future scenarios.

These past few post are some experimental night time shots

of my friend Dave in the Anza Borrego desert. A mix of ambient

light, light from Dave's headlamp and some camera motion

created an interesting effect.

I would like to dedicate this series to the cast and crew

of the short film The Picnic. I was pleased to find out that it

will be showing at the 2008 Method Fest Independent Film Festival

on the big screen. Even though I fancy myself more of a still photographer,

I do enjoy the creative process of cinematography and hope to be part

of the movie making process in the future.

Can you tell I adore the color RED? ! ?

I am working on making pins from recycled aluminum cans. they involve many layers, sewing, gluing, and even a tiny heart bead on the green one.

Showing the work in progress steps in the creation of my most recently finished acrylic painting on a broken skateboard deck.

Luke Ramsey is awesome. He creates beautiful, intricate pieces of artwork that include zines, murals, paintings and prints. He also runs Islands Fold, an independent publisher and artist residency in B.C., Canada.

We ran into Luke last summer at the Portland Zine Symposium, and saw him sketching in a Scout Book! Quickly gave him another, and within weeks he had filled it up and sent us images. At long last, here is what the fantastic Luke Ramsey did with the 32 grid pages of a Scout Book.

Awesome! Thanks, Luke.

Design Thinking embraces the fully value of a concept-net with the ability to step up in levels of abstraction by up-chunking and to step down in levels of specification by down-chunking.

a look into my messy home studio space. This is the stuff taking up room on my main table right now.

Design Thinking strives to keep unity as a central operating concept around which forces of change blow and try to influence our actions.

Skipping through Dystopia on way to Utopia

A lone figure moves with an unsettling grace in the dim twilight of a decaying city, where the remnants of civilisation stand as silent witnesses to their demise. Each step taken amidst the desolation seems to mock the essence of existence as if moving forward is a futile rebellion against the oppressive weight of being. The air is thick with the stench of rust and decay, a tangible reminder of the absurdity that permeates this forsaken world.

As the figure advances, the surrounding gloom intensifies, the shadows growing longer and more oppressive. The skeletal remains of the old world loom ominously, their presence a stark reminder of the inescapable reality of existence. Yet, amidst this suffocating despair, there is a fleeting, almost imperceptible shift where the oppressive darkness gives way to a horizon bathed in a cold, indifferent light. The figure pauses, gazing back at the path traversed, a journey marked by the relentless confrontation with the absurdity of being. In this moment, there is no utopia, no redemption, only the stark, unyielding reality of existence and the solitary figure's acknowledgment of it.

Design Thinking often lives in the space of ‘problem solving’ and it strives to live in the space of ‘opportunity seeking’.

Had an amazing shoot with this Contemporary Ballet Dancer. We used the famous Rembrandt Lighting.

The two photos has been printed on transparent tracing paper, and glued on the pages: on the left they has been continued with the pencil, on the right with watercolors.

Le foto sono state stampate su della carta da lucido trasparente e incollate sulle pagine: a sinistra sono state proseguite con la matita, a destra con gli acquerelli.

my first attempt at lino cut block printing. Not entirely convinced. But was fun and I made plenty of stickers!

My second time working with Lucy. This was so much fun. We shot at two locations over the course of the day with 4 wardrobe changes.

Our shoot was at a few abandoned places and putting Lucy in a vintage clothing and witch costume. Harold came along too and he's got some awesome shots of Lucy too!

I have been wanting to explore Forest Lawn Cemetery here in Buffalo for quite some time now. So last week Dutchee, Frosty, Zephry, and I paid them a visit.

This is a panoramic I shot with my Nikon D40, 18-55mm Nikon kit lens, and Hoya R72 infrared filter. Camera was tripod mounted and triggered via wireless remote. I took four images each overlapping by 25%, merged them in Photoshop and processed them as I normally do with IR shots.

I met up with Lucy and Harold at an abandoned farm for a mini photoshoot. It's always fun to work with talented and creative people.

Here's my map of yesterday's fantastic Visual Thinking and Literacy Conference. This was Jamie Nast and Cliff Atkinson in the Opening Session and Karl Gude in the Closing. Had a fantastic time with all the presenters and participants, got to share my ideas and get some great new ones. Join us next year on April 13, 2013: www.vizliteracy.com/

In the heart of Scandinavia, amidst the whispering pines and the gentle caress of the northern wind, there unfolds a tale of earth and artistry. This series captures the essence of a young potter, whose hands breathe life into clay, shaping it into forms as ancient as time and as fresh as a morning dew. From the initial caress of raw earth to the triumphant emergence of creation, we trace her journey through moments of passion, introspection, and serene completion. Welcome to "Clay Whispers: A Potter's Journey," a visual ode to the timeless dance between creator and creation.

Poem:

In the grasp of her hands, clay turns and twists,

Ancient whispers caught in modern mist.

Beneath her fingers, stories unfold,

Of warmth, of courage, bold yet untold.

In the glow of the kiln, dreams take flight,

Shadows dance in the flickering light.

Each piece, a fragment of her soul's song,

In clay, she finds where her heart belongs.

As the wheel spins, so do the days,

In her art, the echo of nature's ways.

With every touch, a world comes alive,

In the dance of clay, her spirit thrives.

Haiku:

Clay beneath her touch,

Whispers of earth, air, and fire,

Art in motion blooms.

Design Thinking, using the laws of cause and effect, can indirectly create timelines by linking anchored and established concepts to one another.

Once again, I am trying to master 365 photos, one daily, every day, for a year. With the addition of a Smart Phone at the end of this month (my birthday!) I think I can do it for a change. Excited doesn't begin to describe it.

Relaxing with Simulated Memories 4k

The air felt crisp, carrying the faint scent of mountain pine, while sunlight cast long, golden shadows across the simulated peaks. It was a flawless illusion, complete with the soft rustle of a breeze that didn’t exist. The mountains stretched before them, jagged and eternal, like guardians of a world that no longer felt real. A delicate frame of light enclosed the simulation, separating their carefully curated reality from the polished metallic underbelly of the luxury simulation pod.

They sat across from each other at a modest table, the kind they might have owned once before wealth and ambition had altered their lives irrevocably. A small vase of pink flowers sat between them, and the tea cups they held were simple, ceramic, and grounding in their familiarity. Even their clothes had transformed back to something less lavish. His hat was tilted casually, and his beard was unkempt in a way that felt intentional. While she wore a soft sweater, its loose threads were a gentle rebellion against perfection.

“It feels so real,” he said softly, his voice almost lost to the imagined wind.

“Maybe it’s better than real,” she replied. “But what does it mean if this is all we have left?”

“What are we trying to remember?” he suggested.

“When we were happier, maybe. I don’t know. But we weren’t so…” She trailed off, gesturing vaguely at the invisible boundaries of their curated existence.

“Disconnected?” he offered, his tone tinged with resignation.

“I miss the flaws,” he said finally. “The things we couldn’t control.”

“So do I,” she whispered, her fingers brushing the vase's edge. “For now, it’s good enough to pretend.”
