This was quite a flat, dull image after scanning. Good thing I follow Don Giannatti on twitter, he informed me of a post processing creativeLive showing with photographer David Nightingale.
David was showing the class how to use curves effectively in Photoshop. I believe I used them here to great effect. I had originally tossed this scan aside as I didn't think I could save it, but I did and am happy with the result.
I do have a similar picture with almost this exact view taken a couple of winters ago.

I was watching a CreativeLIVE class and got inspired to photograph my sisters during the break. :) This was my favorite of Betz -- There is a window to camera right, and she is standing right in front of a corner in the wall. The cloudy day provided nice soft light that fell off quickly.
I actually shot this yesterday, because I have finally taken my camera off for repair, so I didn't shoot anything today. Not having my camera gave me the opportunity to play a little with editing. I just watched a CreativeLive class that went into a lot of things I have never tried before. One of them being actually changing the color of objects in your photos. I learned that it is much less difficult than I had thought. The shot I took was lovely, but the flowers clashed terribly with the butterfly, so I wanted to make it a little more cohesive so with a little editing magic, my flowers went from bright fuchsia to pale orange! How cool is that?!

Here’s my version of a Glamour Shoot à la Sue Bryce. My friend Jessica Mulvey (who is also a hair stylist and did the hair for the shoot) was gracious enough to model for me. Makeup was done by my friend Helene Thompson using Simona’s techniques. The girls and I had so much fun and they really felt like a million bucks and thanked me for the experience and for making them feel beautiful and hot (I don’t think they needed much help).
