This is my postcard from the place I'm at with creative coding. A little fish swimming in a big pool not really sure where I am going and from time to time bumping my head on a wall. That's a bit better than where I was little while ago, which was almost drowning. I was aiming for something that looks like goldfish swimming in a pond. (I also think this looks a bit like water rippling in the style/colours of Monet).

I've used a class in this and an array and have random motion and controlled variation of colours and size. I've used the trick of a rectangle in the draw section that is the size of the display that has a transparency value that makes the trails behind each object show a little, but less than if there were no rectangle being constantly redrawn.

I've mostly got the code from this tutorial that I have watched twice channel9.msdn.com/Series/Sketchbooktutorial/Particles-Cla...

The code is available on openprocessing here: www.openprocessing.org/sketch/214180

I used Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 to screen capture the video and it has lost some of the clarity of the shapes, it looks better for me on the openprocessing version.

Get an Industrial Back Rub with your very own robotic masseuse!

Download to see animated GIF ... flickr, for some reason, doesn't support the file type!

This project adapts an ABB IRB140 into a back massager. We created a smart end-effector –– embedded with pressure sensors –– that lets a person direct lean into the robot to control its massage routine.

Project by Madeline Gannon (www.madlab.cc) & Zack Jacobson-Weaver (enartdezark.blogspot.com)

Personal project

Inspired by Luciano Lutereau's book, Los Santos Varones

"..las oraciones de los rezos son como canciones, y no hay necesidad de pensar mucho en lo que se está diciendo, porque es suficiente con repetir con un acento correcto y sentido cada una de las palabras pronunciadas..."

The algorithm sorts any given text in a character matrix, triggering the motion for each letter in sequence.

You can see the animated version — and download the source code to change parameters such as input text, speed, font size etc — here.
