I had the opportunity to stand on the stage in the beautiful Stavanger concert hall. They even played the organ behind me when I took the photo!
The organ, with its 4554 pipes, was built by Ryde & Berg, Fredrikstad. The facade was designed by architect Ulf Oldæus.
The orchestra hall is named after the composer Fartein Valen. It is specially designed for acoustic music and will become the new home of Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.
The hall can hold an audience of 1500 in the stalls, the 3 balconies and the choir area.

Eastlake Galleried shotgun doubles ( 1880-1905)
Offically, the Victorian Age extended from 1837 when Victoria became Queen of England to her death in 1901. We use this "catch all phrase" to describe the many different styles which evolved during this time: including Eastlake, Bracket and Queen Ann styles. The Eastlake style is noted for its embellishment of brackets, piercework and spindle bands. These gingerbread houses are an example of this happy, exuberant and creative architecture.
Shotgun Double (1840-1940) This house type is a 2 family house composed of 2 shotgun singles joined under one roof and separated by a center wall. 2113-15 & 2114-16 Chartres have a front gallery (porch) and a Victorian facade.

designed
this
large
loft
building
in
1912
specifically
to
house
the
division
of
the
paint
supply
and
wallpaper
firm
ofRernien
&
Kuhnert
.
Its
fayade
shows
the
influences
of
Chicago's
creative
architectural
movement
of
the
turn
of
the
last
century.
However
the
ground
floor
was
remodeled
in
1945
to
give
it
a
distinctive
modem
treatment
executed
in
fluted
terra
cotta
to
match
the
original.
Not
only
did
this
building
exemplify
the
Chicago
architecture
of
the
time
but
also
it
housed
the
works
of
the
Chicago
artist
George
Frederick
Schultz.
Remien
&
Kuhnert
were
avid
patrons
of
his
art,
exhibiting
over
100
works
alone
by
him.
These five images are from 2012. I did my usual adjustments in LR, then brought them into PSE13 to experiment with filters and effects. Then, I brought them back into LR for finishing touches.
