Troy Bronsink balances (albeit awkwardly) at that delicate creative fulcrum between spirituality and action. The very sparks that inspire our most ingenious work can incinerate our families and careers, and so Troy’s work is coaching artists, activists, and organizations to develop mindful approaches to sustain their work and its process. Troy is a mindfulness coach, a design thinking consultant, and a process facilitator. He is founder of The Hive: A Center for Contemplation, Art, and Action opening at Urban Artifact in Northside. Troy’s Life as Art retreats, held nationally from Atlanta to Austin, equip creatives with design models and meditation practices to sustain their life and work. He is a musician, mixologist, 99U Ambassador, Chase Public contributor, Fetzer Institute retreat facilitator, Curator for the Wild Goose Festival, activist, spiritual director, published author, husband and co-parent of two. A new creative project is in the works using found oppositional artefacts : the “Political Police” shield, an Anonymous mask, another mask representing anarchopanda worn to contest bylaw P6 and the anomaly of the collection: a red tuque of the Montreal Police Fraternity (MPF), recently found during a demonstration.
(photo: COBP) Montréal, 15 mars 2015.
The (re)mediation and the combination of these four oppositional symbols transforms them. Their combination mingles police and political repression with the struggle against austerity and the democratic right to demonstrate.
The MPF tuque is a symbol that schizophrenically blends the Fraternity’s fight against austerity to preserve their pension fund, as well as a strong symbol of police repression. The Montréal police wear this tuque as a pressure tactic even while their kettle protestors and make mass-arrests during Printemps 2015 demonstrations against austerity.
drapeau FPPMDuring the May 1st demonstration in Montréal, I found the MPF car window flag. I now include it in the portrait series.

sorry if this info is incorrect as i didn't set up the lights lol.
I have to admit, I absolutely love this ad. The interaction, the design sense, the message, the technological wizardry that makes it go. It's spot on. Well done, Adobe.
I'm not sure what inspired the creative types to attach plastic sheet protectors to the building. It looks like the building has scales.

These sketches were done while in graduate school. We were tasked with taking a theme, and creating creative representations of it. I used the second World War as my inspiration for creativity.
