An older shot from the 'Dutch Light Painters Group' meeting we had last october. If I remember correctly '_Intuos_' got some of the burning wool on his head and ended up with a nice little battle-scar from it all. If the weather gets better we should definitely plan a next group meeting.
Detroit is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Michigan, the fourth-largest city in the Midwest and the largest city on the United States–Canada border. It is the seat of Wayne County, the most populous county in the state. Detroit's metropolitan area, known as Metro Detroit, is home to 5.3 million people, making it the fourteenth-most populous metropolitan area in the United States and the second-largest in the Midwestern United States (behind Chicago). It is a major port on the Detroit River, a strait that connects the Great Lakes system to the Saint Lawrence Seaway. The City of Detroit anchors the second-largest economic region in the Midwest, behind Chicago, and the thirteenth-largest in the United States.
Detroit is the center of a three-county urban area (population 3,734,090, area of 1,337 square miles (3,460 km2), a 2010 United States Census) six-county metropolitan statistical area (2010 Census population of 4,296,250, area of 3,913 square miles [10,130 km2]), and a nine-county Combined Statistical Area (2010 Census population of 5,218,852, area of 5,814 square miles [15,060 km2]). The Detroit–Windsor area, a commercial link straddling the Canada–U.S. border, has a total population of about 5,700,000. The Detroit metropolitan region holds roughly one-half of Michigan's population.
Detroit was founded on July 24, 1701, by the French explorer and adventurer Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac and a party of settlers. With expansion of the automobile industry, the Detroit area emerged as a significant metropolitan region within the United States in the early 20th century, when the city became the fourth-largest in the country for a period. In the 1950s and 1960s, expansion continued with construction of a regional freeway system.
Due to industrial restructuring and loss of jobs in the auto industry, Detroit lost considerable population from the late 20th century to present. Between 2000 and 2010 the city's population fell by 25 percent, changing its ranking from the nation's 10th-largest city to 18th. In 2010, the city had a population of 713,777, more than a 60 percent drop from a peak population of over 1.8 million at the 1950 census. This resulted from suburbanization, industrial restructuring, and the decline of Detroit's auto industry. Following the shift of population and jobs to its suburbs or other states or nations, the city has focused on becoming the metropolitan region's employment and economic center. Downtown Detroit has held an increased role as an entertainment destination in the 21st century, with the restoration of several historic theatres, several new sports stadiums, and a riverfront revitalization project. More recently, the population of Downtown Detroit, Midtown Detroit, and a handful of other neighborhoods has increased. Many other neighborhoods remain distressed, with extensive abandonment of properties.
The Governor of Michigan, Rick Snyder, declared a financial emergency for the city in March 2013, appointing an emergency manager. On July 18, 2013, Detroit filed the largest municipal bankruptcy case in U.S. history. It was declared bankrupt by Judge Steven W. Rhodes of the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on December 3, 2013; he cited its $18.5 billion debt and declared that negotiations with its thousands of creditors were unfeasible. On November 7, 2014, Judge Rhodes approved the city's bankruptcy plan, allowing the city to begin the process of exiting bankruptcy. The City of Detroit successfully exited Chapter 9 municipal bankruptcy with all finances handed back to the city at midnight on December 11, 2014.

Ian David Nsenga, aka Creative, was born in the city of Nairobi, Kenya as one of many diasporas of a war torn Rwanda. His journey began on the continent of Africa but he eventually immigrated to Canada in 1993. His love for music and literature shaped his style - fusing poetry and hip-hop during his university days in British Columbia. His journey brought him to major venues in the community and diverse settings from International Festivals to Non-Profit Organizations during the 2010 Olympic Games.

The 430 itself fired with a cactus v4 trigger @1/8 power to lighten the bulb.
Another flash was triggered to lighten the "speedlite 430exII" name. This one was placed on the ground pointing upwards and it has been softened by a bunch of white sheets of paper (it's an old old flash, no power setting..)
The Robotic Woodcraft interdisciplinary research team consists of architects, mathematicians, designers and master cabinetmakers. The University of Applied Arts Vienna, the Association for Robots in Architecture and Lucy.D, a Vienna-based design studio, are jointly exploring ways to customize production processes.
Recently, the team developed several pieces of furniture, the production of which builds upon the flexibility of today’s robots. Working together with master cabinetmakers, the research crew identified particular fabrication processes that are highly challenging to do by hand but benefit from a robot’s high precision and strength.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) graduated 54 recruits from its training academy on Friday, November 19, at 10:00 a.m., at Valley Recruit Training Academy 81, 14355 Arminta St., Panorama City, 91402. The recruits completed a rigorous 20-week training curriculum preparing them for a successful career with the LAFD. There are 52 men and two women of class 2021-1.The LAFD is proud to announce that the top recruit is female Carly Wopat. She finished with an overall score of 94.7%. She was number one for academics and basics, and was third in her class for hose lays. Soon-to-be Probationary Firefighter Wopat has two other family members in the Fire Service in Southern California. And for the first time, the son of a female LAFD member will be graduating from the Recruit Training Academy. Soon-to-be Probationary Firefighter/Paramedic Alexander Greer is the son of active duty Firefighter/Paramedic Christi Greer, a 32-year member of the LAFD, who currently works at Fire Station 97 on Mulholland in Studio City.
Alexander is extremely proud to follow in the footsteps of his mother, Christi Greer. Cristi Greer is a 32-year veteran of the LAFD and is currently assigned to Fire Station 97, on the B Platoon. Christi joined the ranks of the LAFD in 1989 as a paramedic and later participated in the firefighter training program. One of the first LAFD members that Alexander was introduced to, shortly after his birth, was then Captain Ralph Terrazas. Captain Terrazas visited the hospital to congratulate Paramedic Greer on her first child, Alexander. Throughout Alexander's youth, the LAFD became like a second family and home for Alex. He would spend many holidays and weekends visiting his mother at the fire stations, and became very close with several members, who would later become mentors to him. Christi likes to brag to Alex that she got hired three years earlier than he did, at 20 years old. As proud as she is of her oldest child, Christi is still Mom. She has even asked him not to share all the details of his ride-alongs with her, because she knows what dangers he may be exposed to when serving the public. Alex is excited and feels prepared to begin his probationary year as a Firefighter at Fire Station 29, A Platoon.
LAFD Class 21-1 transferred to their first probationary assignment, reporting as early as Sunday, November 21, 2021 (depending on which platoon assignment they received).

During this shot something in the tool went wrong and I ended up with a broken broken orb tool. Some key components need re-thinking but that's what you get with a taped prototype I guess. The principle behind the tool works very good so i more then happy with the results of this small project so far.
