After an IT support session for someone in Leicester's West End, I walked back to the bus station along the canal. There's some classy graffiti along here that I've not noticed before.
"If you have the capacity
To create the clouds of trouble,
Then God has the capacity
To create the sun of Grace.
For whom, if not for you,
For you alone?"

January - We are so lucky to have lots of GSW visiting the feeders and I'm lucky to have the time and location to photograph them. I now add dates to my images because they're exported onto a Mac which takes the export date as the date created and REALLY irks me :)

Created by my granddaughters. The feathers are naturally made from wood shavings gnawed off of trees by beavers. The clam shell eyelids were also found nearby. Materials found next to the Des Plaines river.

Shot with Canon EOS 40D + Canon 18-55mm
I shot this in the same art gallery as this one.
This artist looked a bit curious after I shot this and somehow didnt want to go on with creating his art as long as I stood there with my camera. Fortunately I already had my shot =)
As you may have heard, tomorrow will be a pretty interesting day in berlin. Its the annual "Labor day" which is traditionally celebrated with a big public party and riots afterwards.
Right wing extremists fight against left wing extremists fight against police.
I am not totally sure yet whether I really want to go shooting there but I think I will.
I hope for good shots. And for not being arrested or hit by something. Fingers crossed!

The male marsh wren builds the nest in anticipation of the arrival of the female. Sometimes they build "dummy nests" which aren't used, they are never as well completed as the ones that are used as brood nests. Some scientists theorize that they are build as an outlet for the energy of the males before the females arrive. Dummy or extra nest building stops when the females arrive and mating starts.
