I was looking to pare down the two hundred (literally) shots uploaded to Lr from my wonderful Summit Lake hike and thought of this one first. I remember when I took this thinking 'this isn't gonna work', but I loved that tree and rocks and that snag, maybe it would be good enough for FB so my Dad can see it. I blew it up and it was chair spin time!
I looked at my photostream last week and decided I was showing too many Rainier shots, so here's a little less...... :-) (Oh, I crack myself up!)

This very large shrub is in a very hard to get to spot in the Camellia Garden here and this is the best shot I've been able to get of it. Always blooms late in the season and is always a show stopper. Looks good enough to eat doesn't it.

My darling Richard sadly passed away last Saturday and he so loved ice cream.
So this is my tribute to him with his ice cream sundae, always with strawberries. His favourite.

Instead of a fly, how would you react to a butterfly landing in your blueberries and cream? ...
Due to the closeup on the berries the butterfly has been greatly reduced in size.
Rose petals are edible and can be used to make rose water by soaking the petals in water and then adding to jellies or jams, whereas they are also used in Chinese and Indian dishes by using rose petals as flavouring in their cooking. There are five stages of a roses life starting with the seeds, then on to propagation, then you have a young rose bush and then the growing season they then go in to dormancy in the winter then the cycle starts again the following year. The cream rose symbolises ‘charm and thoughtfulness’ with other coloured roses having different meanings which they symbolise.
On our way to get ice cream earlier this week, we pulled over to catch this sunset. Gotta love summer!
