(The Chinese fishing nets at sundown story starts here.)

The last day of my trip though India was spent seeing the one thing I came on the trip to see, the Chinese fishing nets at sun down. To do so, my tour company out of the UK, scheduled a cruise through the harbour and bay of Kochi.

I waited on the dock and saw a large boat pull up and board many tourists. I was prepared to get on that boat, but my guide shook his head no. Then a smaller boat docked and he motioned that this was my boat. Let's say that the boat resembled the walls of this old house along the harbour.

It was a wooden boat with cracks like this and I could see light through many of the boards. I gingerly stepped on board and began a joyful "cruise." I loved having my own boat and the wonderfully polite and kind men who proudly showed me the area were an added bonus. I could focus on taking pictures and have the silence to do so. Moments like this are the times I cherish in remembering my travels.

I can be skeptical when I travel so I kept asking for reassurance that we would be close by the fishing nets at sundown. At times, the suspense over came me, but at the end of this series I will show you the finale of the cruise and my trip through Southern India.

You can see the effects of tides on the river ice here along the shore of Middle River. In just one week of extreme cold weather a nice layer of ice has taken hold in the river.

A fallen tree blocks the path through the wood on Borough Hill

With the recent heavy snowfall and today's sunshine, it seemed the perfect time to put on a pair of snowshoes and visit a favorite spot. This is a panorama of 7 images. It's not quite as detailed as I would like but that wasn't the point - it was more to share a scene that takes your breath away when you walk up to it. That big crack just to the left of the waterfall suggests all that ice won't be there long.

Crack in an auto windshield. It sounds like what it is.

Crack Canyon; Crack Canyon Wilderness Study Area, Utah; December 2017

The plan was to make a loop hike by hiking down Crack Canyon then crossing over to hike back up nearby Chute Canyon. We ended up spending too much time first searching for a trail and then missing the spot to go into the wash that leads to Chute, so we ended hiking Crack Canyon twice, which was fine because it's an amazing place.

Those gray cracks

Cruel laugh lines

Compiled through sidewalks;

I'm not plummeting in today

Or breaking any backs

The heartwood of the yew wood is worked to the inside of the bow because it is very good at dealing with compression, the sap wood is very elastic so forms the back of the bow because it can deal with stretching.

This old bow has formed cracks in its heartwood and is no longer a bow but a stick (albeit a beautiful long stick)

this was sent to me by a another yahoo friend and i just wanted to share

gosh how i want to learn paint shop pro to be able to do this.

Repost the photo with background removed suggested by a fellow Flicker photographer. Comments and critiques are always welcome.

Can you see the cracks of different size and order? But they look very similar and you can't rate their size without any scale!

The ice over Lago Bianco has been cracking as water is let out of the reservoir, but it still has enough cover and strength for snowshow, Norsdic ski and paraski traverse.

A pair of the RhB's old ABe 4/4iii railmotors were in and out of service covering for Allegras under repairs a few days each week when I was there, and from the 7th of April a pair are rostered on the additional seasonal BEX train that started on that day. Alas the weather had turned by then and I had moved on.
