The Scottish Government, in all its wisdom, and with all its powers has decided to do something really progressive that will benefit no living person at all. It will do nothing for employment, housing, social services, education , health services. Yet it risks enormous cost through compensation to the descendants of those the Bill will affect.

The Scottish Government has decided to pardon nearly 4000 women who were accused of being witches, well over 300 years ago. That should help. Alot.

In America, 670,000 people have died from COVID-19. This exhibit of 670,000 flags (and more every day) is meant to remember those that passed.

You can visit this immense field of flags on the National Mall, in Washington, DC, from September 17 - October 3, 2021. Visitors are invited to personalize flags for someone they have lost.

For the time being at least, coronavirus concerns have flushed Major League Baseball down the drain, along with many of the world’s other major sports and entertainment events.

Little Miss./Mr. covid gift strutting along the edge of a farmer field in the ARNWR (Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge) in North Carolina.

I call each and every black bear photographed on that trip (probably 20 in all) as a covid gift. Between 2018 and 2020 I prayed, dreamed, received reluctant permission from my bride, saved, received several painful jungle related shots, planned and purchased several items…including airfare for a trip to Brazil to photograph jaguars in the wild. Covid cancelled everything.

When the Mrs. and some friends tired of my moping around, I was asked “Where would be the second place on your list,” I immediately thought of the bears of Alligator River! Within a few weeks, RVs were packed and fueled and off to North Carolina we went!

I had learned of Alligator River from a fellow wildlife photographer. Research showed that ARNWR has not only has an extremely large population of black bears, but they are the largest in the world due to the coastal climate and lack of hibernation. That’s what my research told me. Once we arrived, we quickly learned that much of the area within ARNWR is farmed. Farmers are required to leave 20% of their crop in the field…so these bears corn and soy bean fed!
