Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series joins Jessie Rees Foundation, in raising awareness for courageous kids fighting cancer.
In an effort to raise awareness for the more than 300,000 children diagnosed with cancer each year, Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will join Jessie Rees Foundation; together they are Going Gold for the month of September in honor of Childhood Cancer Month.
On September 23rd and 24th, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will be competing in rounds 13 & 14, at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park. Drivers competing in this event will kick off the week of competition with a visit to Loma Linda Hospital on September 22nd. They will be spending time with the children and families fighting; encouraging them to Never Ever Give Up.
A tradition of the foundation and its partners is to leave the signature Joy Jars with the children. Jessie herself started this tradition during her very own fight with cancer that unfortunately ended in 2012.
“We are so pleased to join with the Jessie Rees foundation in offering these wonderful children some joy in the midst of a very difficult struggle. Our drivers have been so touched by the daily heroism of these kids and are working hard to raise awareness for each of their fights with cancer. As the drivers take to the track on Friday and Saturday their trucks will be emblazoned with a Gold sticker encouraging the children they met to Never Ever Give Up,” said Bob Patison, Vice President of Lucas Oil.
In the weeks leading up to the September 23rd and 24th, Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park, drivers will be recording and sharing online videos as well as making hospital and clinic visits in hopes to create awareness for children fighting cancer.
