He lost his wife. His health is failing him. What is there for me, he thought. Yet I must go on.

A great zeal and the want to edit has been pushed back further & further...
The torment of sitting today for a few hours was so painful, I have to stretch my legs often so that the pain eases up. I have to try even with the utmost difficulty, being sick is not fun at all.
Dont know when I will feel better but all I know is I have to surround myself with dreamers & the doers around here, especially my photographer friends, to surround myself with the believers and the thinkers, but most of all to surround myself with friends who see the greatness in within me, even if I do not see it myself.
That is not to be afraid but to focus on where I want to go and not on where I am currently are, it's not easy not to be able to walk but the battle has begun, I have to stand strong, to trust in myself to be able to chase my dreams...
Whenever I find myself doubting on how far I can go, I have to remember how far I have come. To remember everything I have faced, all the battles I have won, and all the fears I have overcome.
I am writing this hoping I can inspire those who are suffering in pain like me. Not to tell you the magnitude of pain I have but to remind you how great God's blessings are.
When people put you down and treat you poorly, keep being you.
Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth.
We are all beautiful and unique, to be beautiful means to be yourself, don't let how you feel make you forget what you deserve.
Dont wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to enjoy your life.

The recently refurbished footbridge (1950s) in Markyate, Hertfordshire. It is still one of the very few concrete structures in this architecturally (and in some other ways) rather conservative village. Its design is deliberately modern and in some tension with the traditional brick buildings. Fuji X-E2 plus Pergear fisheye lens (fixed at F5.6).
Happy New Year everyone!
I saw the New Year in by painting my Inner Artist Guardian as the family had gone to bed! It was my best New Year's yet! :)
"Courage is knowing what not to fear". Plato
What an incredible cloud formation appeared tonight as the sun was sinking. It was a giant storm cloud that rose in a tall column, then began to spread at its upper tip. The setting sun gave it a backlit aura which added to the drama. As I shot a few pictures of this phenomenon, a laughing gull flew into the frame and appeared to be heading fearlessly straight for this wall of deep blue. In actuality, the bird was much closer to me than to the storm cloud.

what did you say, I didn't hear you.
I speak to this heart of mine,
that rings its sonorous halo
of rippling guts, courage, spilled over
from a timid body, splitting at its seams.
this butterfly is closing its wings to settle down on his chosen few flowers. He has no energy to come cover every corner of the beautiful garden that once was his paradise anymore. Paradise has now got to come with limits, like those white picket fences and vines that are built amongst those bushes. And its wistful to know that I cannot be free like I once was and visit every flower, to gain each and every bit of social energy that drives the zest of a person that I once was.
but as this butterfly grows in his life,
he finds his voice, direction.
and then builds his home,
amongst the flowers that he calls to,
in a world that he can never leave.
If you put your mind and spirit in the state of fearlessness to face the unknown future, tomorrow will always be brighter.
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

Sadly, I have a few cherished friends here on Flickr who are going through challenging & heartbreaking health crises - some personally and some with those they love. This delicate, but resilient, little Spring iris is for you my dears. ♡
Outtake from last shoot!
My dog usually wonders around my feet when I shoot so I thought i'd leave her in for this photo.

Anzac Day, 25 April, is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first campaign that led to major casualties for Australian and New Zealand forces during World War One and commemorates all the conflicts that followed.

Can't get these images out of my head. From Politiken 02.10.09 … Photographer Luiz Vasconceles, Brazil. 1st prize in the category 'News/Single shot' in World Press Photo.
Image of tribal woman fighting for her land. Her tribe is being put of of their area and she's the last one standing. What courage! And what kind of despair, makes a woman with a child on her arms fight so courageous?
After all you put me through
You'd think I'd despise you
But in the end, I wanna thank you
'Cause you made me that much stronger
The low winter sun struggled to light up Highland Courage as it made it's way into Aberdeen Harbour, Jan 2008.
Neat little house (small relative to neighbours), not sure why it drew my eye (and lens). Was it a word I read somewhere up there?
Yes, this is Scotland. Yes, this is Scotland in April. And yes, she really is barefoot and on her way back into the sea!!!!
