Letter on reverse kindly translated by Nettenscheider; authored sometime in May 1915 and addressed to a Fritz Burkhardt in Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria, the author identifies the fellows in the photograph as belonging to Minenwerfer-Abteilung 102. Photogr. Samson & Co. G.m.b.H., Köln. Postage cancelled in Cöln on 21.5.1915.
Bavarian Pioniere and a couple of Diensthunde from Königlich Bayerische 2. Pionier Bataillon zu Speyer, photographed in Köln sometime in 1915. Of note is another example of Bavarians adorning their sleeves with a not-often-seen insignia.
