While I was on the pier at Clear Lake shooting the sunset one night, this couple asked if I would take their photo. I've always wanted to shoot a really good sunset portrait and this seemed like a perfect night for it.
I moved the camera and tripod up close and had them step over the little fence (shhh) and stand on the rocks at the shore. Kept the camera low and made sure the tree stayed in the shot, but didn't break the horizon. I put the 430 flash on the remote trigger, then placed it on the ground on the left side of them (angled up so the light falls off at their knees). A couple of test shots to get the light power balanced with the sunset... Then I told them to hold really still after the flash because I had to drag the shutter. And smile (because it was too dark for me to see their faces!)...

I got their email address and I just sent it off to them. I'm hoping this photo reminds them of their honeymoon forever....

couple in love, this image was shot using a Atom 360 from lencarta and a 24x24 inch soft box from lastolite.
As I was wondering around Prague I came across cool arch structure which was stretching quite far.
It looked attractive so I framed it, but at that moment couple stepped in, I took a shot and waited for them to pass to take another one with empty arch. At the end the unexpected couple appearance made the picture way more interesting.
Gus Rodio and Cristian Dejesus having a conversation on the false grid. My guess is he was giving some advice to the young rider.

Finally had a chance to take my new lens out for a spin (pun intended) and to put it through it's paces on my 5D Mark IV and 7D Mark II along with the 1.4 and 2x Teleconverters.
