You can always count on the fae to make fools of you.

Attention denizens of Moorcroft.
For far too long have we of the faewoods been denied what is rightfully ours!
You have not once brought the proper offerings of Milk and Honey!
We who have kept the trickery of the Unseelie at bay, have decided no longer and thus have declared war upon you!
We have taken your tower as our first victory, more shall follow until offerings and reparations have been made!

Though Moorcroft's town gates have since been restored, you can still visit here to see if they are indeed keeping up with their offerings to the faewoods.

This photograph was taken on Amherst Island Ontario. Exploring the whole island is like taking a step back in time. So many old farms, barns and artefacts displayed on every turn. The light is magical..and this photo, I think captures some of the feelings that I experienced. Enjoy and thanks for favs and comments!

'Lately I been, I been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby I been, I been prayin' hard
Said no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars
Yeah, we'll be counting stars'
One Rebublic
I count the seconds
but feel no time
breathing all I see
while exhaling
all my visions
today...
nature's sophisticated change
a fashion we must always follow
never unwitnessed
in pedagogic light
nature forever the prelate!
every leaf becomes a diary
for us to record the seasons;
change is also our renewal!

💞two of the most important persons on my Sl 💞
💛💛If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea,
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see,
I'll be the light to guide you
Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
You can count on me like one two three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four three two
You'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah💛💛
Sometimes while observing nature it reminds me to count my blessings. When my daughter was about ten years old once said, "I don't have everything I want but I have everything I need." You can learn a lot listening to children too.
Made it count on the last shot for the year - Northern Plains Railroad has two units hauling one boxcar passing through Alvarado, Minnesota. NPR 5513 retains its CN nose herald, so if you ignore the subtle NPR evidence on the side, you can imagine CN SD60Fs frolicking in the snow. The train has just crossed the Snake River and see the 349 milepost sign - that's 349 track miles from Shoreham Yard in Minneapolis. This arm of the Soo Line served as a grain feeder for the mills in Minneapolis. Countless bushels of grain have passed over the rails here in the Red River Valley heading to Thief River Falls and further on to Minneapolis. They still do just maybe not terminate there.
Here's to wrapping up 2020! On to 2021!
The manor Senden was in the Middle Ages under the name Benekamp owned by the family of Senden called Benekamp . The heiress of this sex, Kunigunde, married Alexander (Sander) Droste to Kakesbeck (1357-1401). His father Albrecht was a brother of Heinrich Droste to Vischering, progenitor of the later barons and Count Droste to Vischering , who are to this day, among others, at the castle Vischering , the moated castle Darfeld and the Erbdrostenhof in Münster resident. Under the name Droste zu Senden a new family branch was formed.
The son of Sander and Kunigunde, Ludeke Droste (1405-1466), built the much later supplemented Castle Send as a festival house in the form of a moated castle. His son Sander II Droste zu Senden (1448-1502) built the mansion in its present form, which is probably the oldest surviving architectural monument of this type and model for buildings of the Westphalian Renaissance with its three-level gable. Presumably from this time also comes the southern facing facade of the connecting structure with a series of stone cross windows and loopholes.
I could count the number of rail photos I've taken in Mississippi on two hands. On August 20, 1987, I stopped by the Meridian & Bigbee facility in Meridian specifically to photo CF7 106, ex-Santa Fe 2442. I was contemplating a book of former Santa Fe CF7s and was traveling around hunting down some of them. This was the only CF7 on the M&B roster, and as I recall, I had to wait several hours for the sun to swing around for a decent image. The 106 later went to South Kansas and Oklahoma (SKOL).
CPKC and CSX recently acquired the M&B for a run-through route that benefits both railroads. The M&B will continue to provide local service on the route.

I love b/w, but color can be a lot of fun in a studio where you can make choices of mixing warm and cool colors to get an effect and evoke a feeling. Likewise, it is fun to go in one direction, either cool or warm and work only in that palette. This image reflects a warm approach, and illustrates the difference in mood when compared with the previous image I posted that emphasized cool colors. Both feature daisies from the same bunch of flowers.
I haven’t been able to go out and work on my night time series for the past several weeks. But my camera still calls to me, so I’ve returned to the studio, so to speak, to shoot flowers. I decided to use light painting. The result is really an eclectic mix of styles. Each day, I ran with whatever idea came to me, and improvised as I went along. So this is more an odds and sods collection than a series of thematically connected images. There has been a lot of discards along the way, but enough keepers to start posting. It is keeping me engaged, and I hope to soon get back out under night skies.
For a look at them as a collection, check out, Flowers & Light Painting

Every fading barn has a story, some a very normal history while others have many untold stories from generations of farmers raising a family while making a living tilling the soil and care-taking animals. This barn looks well taken care of even though it appears empty amidst the new summer's growth around it. Someone spent a good deal of money on a new roof. My father always told me to count the cost of something not only in the present but also how it would affect me in the future. Many of the plans we make in life turn out to be expensive lessons.
I've been a fan of _alariko's stuff o Instagram for a while now, and this one really caught my eye. So I thought hey, why not have a go at making it. So I did, and a month (or more, I lost track) later here we are.
I'm actually really proud of it ngl, I feel like I've really achieved something. I used a whole variety of techniques I'd never normally use, and I think it really pays off. Blender was a pain as always, but I learned some new things, so that was nice.
I should also thank the folks from MemeLUG, a discord server I'm in. They helped a lot with various bits, it's always good to have a second, third etc opinion when building something like this.
I'm fully prepared for this to flop, as it's probably not what you'd expect from my account, but it made me happy while I was building it (not rendering it, that was a thankless task) and that's what counts.
