Well, I must admit I was inspired and intrigued by a few *belt buckle* images which have come up on my stream the last few days, so decided to post two more special items from my *sheep* collection!

I can always count on my husband's collection to be a daily photo subject when time and creativity are scarce.

The trail from Boston Mill Visitor Center to Blue Hen Falls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio, will lead to this 100-foot staircase. There might be 154 steps. Have fun counting!

Well I only made it to Brownville Junction one time and it only was for a couple hours but I was blessed with a train and it was a good one in my opinion. Sm eastbound is getting ready to roll with 4719, 4727, 8767 and 8756 with 91 cars on May 8, 1981.

â–¶ "John Dreyfuss employs classical tools and techniques to create works in bronze, steel, iron, and, more recently, composite materials used in the aerospace industry. His work is grounded in the study of animal and architectural forms, with an emphasis on the refinement and adaptation of three-dimensional structures over time and space. His training in both architecture and sculpture found a poetic fusion in the essential duality of his work, where abstracted lines blend seamlessly with the lifelike shapes and textures intrinsic to sculptural realism. Dreyfuss studied at the University of Pennsylvania School of Architecture, Philadelphia, and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has exhibited extensively in the United States and abroad."

"1 sheep, 2 sheeps, 3 sheeps, 4..."

"Barney it's not sheeps is sheep!"

"Pfft. 5 sheeps, 6 sheeps.... ....29 sheeps, 30 sheeps"

"You'll send yourself to sleep counting all those sheep Barney!"

"Won't. I'm gonna send YOU to sleep then, then, I'm gonna go round up all the sheeps and me and some other collies from down the hill are gonna have a sheep trial!"

"You mean a sheepdog trial!"

"No. I haven't done anything wrong, it's the sheep that are on trial. Bad things them are. With their bleatin and worrying dogs and stuff."

You can't see them here, but there were sheep all around the spot I took this! They teased poor Barney all day long, popping out of the undergrowth in front of him and trotting jauntily ahead, just out of reach (he was on a lead!)... Barney is friendly with cows, he is polite with horses and cats and slightly frightened by chickens and goats but sheep are just too tempting - he can't help trying to stalk them, so he stays on a lead around them, apart from when I'm standing still, taking a photo of him, when he knows to stay put!!

Well, you'll never guess what but I'm back at university again! This time, I'm at Birmingham, which is great as I can commute up from home. For the time being, I'm only going up for three months - to work on a research project, but it's very likely I'll actually be there a lot longer - possibly doing a PhD next year. It's all happened so quickly, I can barely believe it! My dad works for a professor at the university and mentioned me to him a couple of weeks ago. At the end of last week, I went and had a chat with him and this Wednesday, I was offered the temporary job. I pretty much started the project that day! It's all rather sudden but I'm very pleased as I'm sure you can imagine :)

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

"Lately, I've been, I've been losing sleep

Dreaming about the things that we could be

But baby, I've been, I've been praying hard

Said, "No more counting dollars, we'll be counting stars"

Yeah, we'll be counting stars…"

One last piece of vintage machinery from Thomas Edison's machine shop.

There are some great pieces of industrial history here, but the light can be a bit challenging for a photographer, due to the big windows. Guess I need to go back for a longer visit on a cloudy day in the winter...

There are three great white sharks in this shot, along with two yellowfin tuna, and a yellowtail amberjack. Can you spot them all?

Eight locomotives lead a long westbound freight into the late afternoon sun west of Waseca, MN in October of 1996. GP40 #4004 is on the point.

This was Gibsy's first encouter with sheep. We stayed in a cottage in the Brecon Beacons in Wales and there were sheep and horses in the field next door. He was around four months old and totally fascinated. Happy Fenced Friday everyone!

I asked two different cowboys how many cattle there were? Neither one knew for sure. How are they going to know if they got them all?

One cowboy said they were Hearding the cows to Texas. I hope somebody in the outfit knows what's going on.

Myndros the minotaur could always count on a warm welcome at the Batuhan Forest Stage. Nestled at a cross roads of trade an culture, a minstrel minotaur fit right in.

I built this concert for the Guilds of Historica's Book IV Prelude Challenge: "Hometown Advantage". Here the bard is a minotaur, which was inspired by the second part of the challenge, I figured a 'bull in a china shop' would be a fun take on "Antique Roadshow" - and a musical minotaur also sounded intriguing.

C&C Welcome.
