The secretive American Bittern, whose markings blend with the browns of the winter freshwater march was a highlight for birders, Barb and Steve Thomas as they worked part of Huntington Beach State Park during the Audubon Society's annual Pawleys-Litchfield Christmas Bird count, Thursday morning.

David S's first show & tell jigsaw was in honour of our member Andrew Kershaw, a cutter approaching his 89th birthday who is, sadly, now in a residential home. During the meeting we signed a card for him and made a happy birthday recording.
