A view of my lovely Chicago at sunset, taken from Navy Pier. She is lovely in her golden dress! And I think the clouds look like cotton candy, don’t they 😃?
A lot of cotton is produced near Buttonwillow, California. The town is surrounded by fields and is home to large cotton gin. The large white objects on the horizon are huge bales of cotton waiting to be processed.
Well, not really. These are actually tapered-tip cotton swabs, a specialty version used for industrial and hobbyist tasks where you need more precision or a smaller tip than an ordinary cotton swab.

I know my little corner of flickr says "wildlife" but I moved to a new town and the Brevard Zoo is close by. I wanted to test my new camera body and these endangered monkeys look pretty cool.
An expanse of cotton grass stretched out in front of me. I was following the burn taking a more relaxed journey from the one it had just escape high up in the Cheviots. I was going in the opposite direction to a place I had always wanted to visit, especially in my rock scrambling days but it had receded to a forgot place in my memory, until a recent recollection prompted by a photo taken by a marvellous photographer @cuthbertson.annette from a recent visit. Today was an adventure day but I still had my camera’s just in case. I’ve have realised that it’s the adventure that has to come first with me, then with any luck the photography will follow. In the distance I think I saw a deer as it briefly raises its head. I get my camera ready as I make my way towards the sighting but I see nothing, even looking through the long lens they is no sign of a deer. I must have been mistaken, the grass is too short to hide a full sized Roe deer, so my readiness is relaxed, as is the camera. To soon you fool, as the deer I’m nearly on top of bolts. I quickly switch the camera on and take a few blurry snaps as it escapes, then he stops deciding he has a safety zone, still in thick cotton grass he looks back at the intruder, I catch my memory, smile, and continue on my way, it’s still only 6:45 and my adventure awaits.
