Lavender Cotton blooms taken at the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. This species is Santolina Virens. They are quite small, the one in focus measures about 1.5 cm in diameter.
The knees get a good work out because they are less than a foot above the ground.
Many thanks for your visit, comments, invites and faves...it is always appreciated.

From my commute this morning. Adjustments to light levels. Color and saturation is untouched and as it came from the camera. Cropped a little.

Grows tall and very heavily armoured - goes through leather gloves! The spider web-like threads around the foliage give Onopordum Acanthiumthe its everyday name.
It is also called the Scottish thistle and is the national flower of Scotland although some award that honour to the spear thistle.
A look deep inside the flower:

I really like old cotton t-shirts but every so often I have to give one up to the rag bag. Thank you to anybody stopping here to view my old shirt. I'll accept any comment even if it's negative. Happy Macro Mondays.
My "cotton balls" got a bit messy over time. When I tried to pick the dry bits off the "wool" started to unravel so I left it. I used a piece of denim as background to make it doubly cotton.
Hello there,
Macro Mondays challenge this week was "Cotton." The blanket was hand knit by my mother about thirty years ago. This is a 2"x1-3/4" view of her handiwork. HMM!
Thank you for taking the time to view this image and for leaving me a comment. Have a wonderful day and week!
